The record-breaking, chart-topping comedy phenomenon returns for a fifth season - all four episodes are here as a single download. Ricky Gervais, of course, is the award-winning co-creator and star of The Office (upon which the current NBC hit series is based) and HBO's Extras. Steve Merchant, who also stars in Extras, is his long-time creative partner. Karl is a pile of protoplasm that mimics the functions of a human being.

Although, like the title says, I found this volume of the Ricky Gervais podcasts not quite up to par with their previous material, I still thought it was amazing. Definately worth your money.

This book is a collection of many of Isaac Asimov's best short stories. The title and image on the front cover are somewhat deceiving as not ALL of the stories involve robots, although many do. A good deal of the robot stories are actually taken directly from Asimov's book "I, Robot", which is a slight drawback.

I have ready a great deal of Asimov's short fiction but some of these stories were new to me, which was refreshing. The order of the stories in the collection was also crafted extremely well.

It is also important to note that the narration performance in this audio book is top notch. The reader has a very soft, relaxing voice and makes sure to give every different character his or her own unique voice.

On it's own, this is a great book. The drawbacks can only be seen when comparing it with the rest of the "Victim" trilogy.

Although this is the 3rd, and final, installment in the series, the book takes the route of a prequel to the first two novels. It is all about how "The Hunt" came to be.

This may be interesting for some, but I much preferred reading into a world where The Hunt already existed and was in full force.

Still, if you are a fan of Robert Sheckley's, I'm positive you will enjoy this installment of the series, whether you share my views or not. It IS still a great listen and the narration is done flawlessly.

PS = This is the book in which Sheckley predicted Apple/Mac computers would eventually overtake IBM as the most prominently used platform!

As far as Twilight Zone episodes go, this one was pretty weak. By the end, I was left confused whether or not the story was meant to teach a lesson or not. If it was, the moral of this story is pretty much self-evident to everyone, even by a very young age.
BUT - Although the story was somewhat boring, as usual with the Twilight Zone, the acting and production were both top notch

I'm a big fan of most of what the Twilight Zone serves up in any medium, but this story lacked everything that makes the series special. The story's plot is weak, the characters aren't likable, and the twist ending is not a big surprise.
    Pass on this one.

This is book #2 in Robert Sheckley's "Victim" series.
But although it IS the second book in a series, it is written in such a way that a reader could hypothetically jump into this novel before reading "The 10th Victim" and not be the least bit confused.
The "Victim" trilogy only shares a common premise, not a common protagonist.
That being said, this installment of the series is just as solid as the first book.
My ONLY complaint is that "Victim Prime" lacks a bit of the humor found in the first book. Just like all of Sheckley's other works, there IS a constant tongue-in-cheek feel to the narration and dialogue in "Victim Prime", but it is not as readily apparent as the rest of the trilogy.
All in all, this is an outstanding listen, and the narration performance is top notch.

It's the 21st Century and the ugliness of war no longer exists, except on a very personal level. Nowadays, people like Marcello Polletti, seller of Roman sunsets, and Caroline Meredith, lithe, beautiful, blonde, and backed by corporate sponsors and the Roy Bell Dancers, hunt, chase, and kill each other for sport and for the entertainment of the masses - until something oddly like personal human feelings pops up to confuse the players and up the stakes...as each of them seeks to kill their 10th victim and rise in the ranks of the hunters.

I was REALLY hoping that Audible would release an audio version of the Hunter series by Robert Sheckley, and it looks like my prayers have been answered.
Not only is this outstanding book and amazing series finally available to listen to, it was made with expert care. The narration performance in this book is on par, if not better, than anything you'll find on ANY premier audiobook. Each character has his or her own completely unique voice, making it nearly impossible to get confused while listening to it. The strength of the narration in this book is SO good in fact, that it ALMOST feels like you are listening to one of those old-time 1950's radio dramas instead of an unabridged recording of a novel.

For those new to Robert Sheckley, I usually suggest trying out his novel "Dimension of Miracles" FIRST, but this audiobook blew me away.

Whether you are a huge fan of Sheckley's or a newcomer to his work, "The 10th Victim" is a perfect place to start in order to get a taste of what this wonderful author has to offer.

    BUY THIS BOOK.

When Dr. Jim Parsons awakens after a car accident, he finds himself in a future populated almost entirely by the young. But for the young to keep running the world, death is fetishized, and those who survive to old age are put down. In such a world, Parsons - with his innate desire to save lives - is a criminal and an outcast. For one revolutionary group, however, he may be just the savior they need to heal and revive their cryogenically frozen leader.

This book was far different than other PKD works I have read, but in a good way. The story in this novel is SO complicated and carefully woven that you can't help but get caught up with the plot. Had this been a real book, and not an audio book, I'm positive it would have been a page-turner.

Very good narration performance as well.

With the support of former White House Chief of Staff John Podesta, investigative reporter Leslie Kean draws on her research to separate fact from fiction and to lift the veil on decades of U.S. government misinformation. Throughout, she presents irrefutable evidence that unknown flying objects - metallic, luminous, and seemingly able to maneuver in ways that defy the laws of physics - actually exist.

This book is SO well researched and executed that it is hard to believe it was the undertaking of a single person. As far as books on the subject of UFOs go, I rank it up there with books such as J. Allen Hynek's "The UFO Experience" as well as "UFOs and Government: A Historical Inquiry".

Much of the book is testimonials from extremely reputable people and high ranking officials regarding the secrets the government is hiding. If these facts are indeed true, this is one of the most important pieces of research to humanity EVER compiled.

This book is truly a mind-blowing experience.

This mind-bending tour of metaphysics applies philosophy to the forefront of today's knowledge. Over the course of 24 fascinating lectures, Professor Johnson thinks through the big questions about humans and the universe: The relationship between the mind and the brain, how consciousness emerges from neurochemical processes, the existence of God, human free will, the possibility of time travel, and whether we live in a multiverse or even a computer simulation.

These lectures really got me thinking, which is exactly what metaphysics should do. Professor David K. Johnson, (although he has sort of a nerdy voice), does an amazing job of leading the listener by the hand through each lecture. The lectures are structured and organized in a way that each one leads into the next topic.

I HIGHLY recommend these lectures for anyone looking to broaden their mind or enjoy thinking outside of the box.

Richard Diamond, Private Detective is a detective drama which was on radio from 1949 to 1953 and on television from 1957 to 1960. Dick Powell starred in the Richard Diamond, Private Detective radio series as a rather light-hearted detective who often ended the episodes singing to his girlfriend, Helen (played by Virginia Gregg).

    Richard Diamond is just great.
It is probably the ONLY detective radio drama of its time to have a sense of humor.

The series is somewhat similar to the style of story penned by Raymond Chandler in his Philip Marlowe mysteries but with a few laughs thrown in here or there.

These stories have definitely withstood the test of time. I doubt it would be possible to make a radio drama as good as Richard Diamond even using today's technology. It just has a certain charm to it that can never be recreated.
