I love Dean Koontz novels. I have most of them in Hardback, Paperback, and Audio. This one however was a struggle to get through.
It took several days for me to force myself through the book. When you get to the end there are redeeming qualities, you really get a grasp of what Koontz is trying to get across, but getting there is a painful journey. I don't mind that kind of journey in life, but it shouldn't be in a novel.
No, I did enjoy his voices, and performance.
No, not really, the book was a struggle to get through.
Koontz is a wonderful author. I have enjoyed the majority of his Novels and I still think he is the best. Unfortunately this is not one of the best.
Finally a Hero with TS. What a great read. my family listened to it on a long road trip. It kept us all entertained. From ages 45 to 15 we all loved it.
Yes, it's a good read and will put your nerves on edge.
It's a bit like other exorcism books, such as Deliver us from Evil, but better.
Todd did a very good job of narrating.
I did want to listen to it all at once, but it took a few days due to my own issues. It was worth the listen and I would again.
I really enjoyed this book over all. Any book that can still give you a case of the nerves while in mid day traffic on a freeway, is definitely a good book. I can't say it's scary, but it keeps you on the edge of your seat a moments. There are a few inconsistencies with the story, but they are overshadowed by the story as a whole. I'm sure you'll enjoy the book.
I would absolutely recommend this book. It's a wonderful tale. Koontz brings you into a world that could be, and sends you through the mind and heart of a true hero.
I wouldn't say on the edge of my seat, but it most certainly kept my interest. My concern for the characters felt real. I found myself in my truck, telling the characters to watch out.
His tone of voice really fits the character. At least my vision of him. He's very low key with a big heart, and Keith brings it out for you to identify with Chris.
Yes, definitely. Rarely do I wish my commute were longer, but, this was one of those times.
I love the Easter Eggs. I read the Odd Thomas series before this, and now I'm waiting for Oddy and Chris to meet.
Consistent story and character development
The first two books. Follows the story progression
No offence to the new narrator, I'm sorry but its like changing the lead actor in a movie. He didn't pull it off. Needs to be re-done by the original. He got the characters right. Unique voices. You knew who each was by the voice. New narrator did a poor job defining each characters voice from the others.
Definately, at leat til I heard the new narrator.
Please get the original narrator back. So disappointing
Dean again writes a wonderful story for guys. It has all 5 of the necessary parts to make it great.
1. A guy with an Issue.
2. The Dog.
3. A Gun
4. A Creature to use the Gun on
5. A HOTTIE to protect.
What more could you ask for, suspence, action, it's all there. Read this book, you will love it as I did.
