Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

This book was a very pleasant surprise. I hadn't met anyone who has read it nor had even heard of it . The summary sounded interesting but the reviews were amazing. So I gave it a shot and I could not stop for all three books. Incredibly well written and entertaining. It had just enough action, romance, science fiction, and drama to keep it moving at a steady but not too fast pace.

The narration was good but not amazing. I wont be going around hoping to find her on other books but she didn't make the book worse. However, I have to give her props for giving most the characters a distinct sound. I prefer that over an author who says each character's line in the same tone and voice as the main.

Why we think it’s a great listen: How do you one-up a book that’s already a global literary phenomenon? Hire Simon Vance to (flawlessly) interpret the loves, lives, and murders of Sweden’s cold and secret-filled world. A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue. It's about the disappearance 40 years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden.

Its hard to rate Simon Vance as a narrator as this was my first book. But i enjoyed it thoroughly. Simon did not make me once wish I had read the book instead of listen to it, in fact it was like he wasn't even reading it. I could just sit there, listen, and see the story in my head as he read it without even fully realizing it was an audio book. So I have to give him 5 stars for that.

For the story, it was a little more graphic in the sexual arena than I prefer but thats my only problem with it. Other than that, the book was great. And when you come across a certain point of this story and go why did he even put that disgusting scene in it, READ THE OTHER BOOKS. You have to read all three, don't read this one by itself or a lot of things wont make sense.

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena live, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge....

I didnt like this book as much as the past two. There are some awesome things in the book but once you hit the last few chapters it starts to get a little convoluted and a bit confusing. I was getting to a point where i just wanted to finish the book just so I could know how it ended, not to enjoy the last bit of the journey.

The books overall are great amazing books and this does end it in a justifiable way that wraps things up. I would also recommend this to anyone. I do have some quibbles about the ending but it doesn't ruin the books or make them mediocre.

The anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts one of the most dramatic stories in American history—how one gunshot changed the country forever. In the spring of 1865, the bloody saga of America's Civil War finally comes to an end after a series of increasingly harrowing battles. President Abraham Lincoln's generous terms for Robert E. Lee's surrender are devised to fulfill Lincoln's dream of healing a divided nation. But one man and his band of murderous accomplices are not appeased....

Its not the greatest book but its good. The story itself is a factual history book and it was written as entertaining as a history book can without deferring away from the story too much. There are a lot of things about Abraham Lincoln that I did not know that are in this book. He really is the gold standard of leadership in this country. Not a perfect leader, but the greatest one America has had.

Having Bill narrate it was interesting. He wasn't the best and his voice isn't the most soothing but hearing a book read by the author is a very interesting experience. He shouldn't go around reading other books for audible but he fit this book.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

The book is extremely good and extremely well written. The narration is perfect and he puts a great voice to each character that makes it so you don't strain at all imagining how the characters flesh out.

The thing is that it may be too detailed for a lot of people. The book is long but it is good. The main negative reviews you will find is people saying it is too long. However, I found it delightful.
