    Any additional comments?

This story was dull from the get go. For me, it just was not interesting. Have loved every Michael Connelly book so far, but not this one!

Judge Richard Quinn is young, idealistic, and honest to a fault. That's why he's handed the most sensational homicide case in Oregon history. Locked in a race for the U.S. Senate, Ellen Crease gunned down the intruder who murdered her wealthy husband. In a single, brutal instant she became a widow, a victim, and a hero. Yet disturbing questions remain. What secrets did the man who started his fortune running mortuaries keep that might have cost him his life?

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I thought the storyline was interesting and I did keep listening, but the narrator trying too hard to do each different male and female was beyond awful. It was like chalk on a blackboard

I'm only into this 9 hours and dying... - It is so slow and incredibly dull. I guess I am so over John Cory's smart ass continuous remarks. It was amusing at first, but no one is this obnoxious in real life. I just can't believe that after listening for 9 hours, nothing has progressed. It is the slowest moving book I have ever listened to. I'm giving up!! First book ever..

Five years ago, Dru Rayne and her uncle fled from Louisiana to Los Angeles after Hurricane Katrina hit, but now they face a different kind of danger. A neighborhood protection gang savagely beats Dru’s uncle, but Pike witnesses it and offers his own brand of protection. Oddly enough, neither of them seems to want it — and neither do the federal agents mysteriously watching their storefront, men who appear quite willing to let the gang have its way.

So many things about this audio book annoyed me. Joe Pike's voice is just so fake, I didn't remember it being that way in his others. I mean why did he go through this whole drill in the first place? Who funds Joe Pike? This Daniel charachter and his voices were over the top ridiculous...

This ambitious, electrifying work traces the harrowing journey of the famed Sarajevo Haggadah, a beautifully illuminated Hebrew manuscript created in 15th-century Spain.

When it falls to Hanna Heath, an Australian rare-book expert, to conserve this priceless work, the series of tiny artifacts she discovers in its ancient binding - an insect wing fragment, wine stains, salt crystals, a white hair - only begin to unlock its deep mysteries.

There are so many stories within this book it got a little confusing at times, but so worth the listen. I too disagree with the bad reviews on the narrator. I thought she did a fantastic job depicting the different characters. What a task she undertook and I think pulled it off wonderfully.
