Two girls, two centuries apart. One never knowing the other. But when Andi finds Alexandrine’s diary, she recognizes something in her words and is moved to the point of obsession. There’s comfort and distraction for Andi in the journal’s antique pages - until, on a midnight journey through the catacombs of Paris, Alexandrine’s words transcend paper and time, and the past becomes suddenly, terrifyingly present.

and......I am not sorry I did. It was well worth a credit. I tend to stay away from "dark" stories but this one touched my heart. The lead character had "problems", but her telling of her story was heart lifting.

Home to the Fletcher family for generations, Dare Island is a fishing village rocked by changing times - its traditions slipping away like sands of the North Carolina coast. Single dad and fishing boat captain Matt Fletcher deferred his own dreams to support his innkeeper parents and build a future for his sixteen-year-old son. Matt has learned to weather life's storms by steering a steady emotional course...and keeping a commitment-free approach to love.

I bought this because it was offered for $3.95. I had never listened to this author's books before, but thought I would give it a try. I LOVED the story, characters, narrator.....all of it. Of course, I had to rush right out and buy the next book in the series. I will be watching for any books by Virginia Kantra from now on. She now has become one of my favorite authors. Really good listen!

I actulally love all things OUTLANDER ! Written in My Own Heart's Blood is the continuing story of all the characters in the previous books. Anyone that is an OUTLANDER addict will tell you that we KNOW these characters personally, and the details told in this book just carry on their lives for us. Of course, now we have to wait for the next book in the series to keep their lives fresh for us. So I don't reveal the ending for anyone, I'll just say, "I can't wait for the next book!"

This is my first Nevil Shute book. I bought it because it was on special. I am so glad I did. What a great story and the narrator was wonderful. I didn't want the story to end. I was hoping there was a second book to follow the story. I will definitely listen to this book over and over again. I consider myself to now being a Nevil Shute fan!

East London, 1888 - a city apart. A place of shadow and light where thieves, whores, and dreamers mingle, where children play in the cobbled streets by day and a killer stalks at night, where bright hopes meet the darkest truths. Here, by the whispering waters of the Thames, Fiona Finnegan, a worker in a tea factory, hopes to own a shop one day, together with her lifelong love, Joe Bristow, a costermonger's son. With nothing but their faith in each other to spur them on, Fiona and Joe struggle, save, and sacrifice to achieve their dreams.

Award-winning author Craig Johnson's critically acclaimed debut Western mystery takes listeners to the breathtaking mountains of Wyoming for a tale of cold-blooded vengeance. Four high-school boys were given suspended sentences for raping a Cheyenne girl. Now, two of the boys have been killed, and only Sheriff Walt Longmire can keep the other two safe.

OMG....I am wondering why it took me so long to discover Craig Johnson and George Guidall. My husband discovered the Longmire series on Netflix and after watching season 1 I quickly looked up Craig Johnson on Audible. This book is my first listen and I'll be getting ALL of them in the Longmire series. This is the best story I have listened to in a very long time.....the story is great and the narrator is REALLY GREAT. I highly recommend purchasing this book. It's a book that you could listen to over and over again.

Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life - steady boyfriend, close family - who has never been farther afield than her tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex-Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life - big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel - and now he's pretty sure he cannot live the way he is. Will is acerbic, moody, bossy - but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected.

The story is so heart wrenching......such a beautiful story of a very unlikely love. I am not normally a fan of a story that makes me cry (and this one made me sob), but I will be listening to this again and again. The narration is outstanding, as is the story itself. This deserves more than 5 stars. I am now a huge fan of Jojo Moyes. This was such a well worth spend of my credit!

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Would you listen to Outlander again? Why?

I have actually listened to it too many times to count already!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Outlander?

Too many memorable moments to pick one! Everything in the story touches your heart and stays there forever.

What about Davina Porter’s performance did you like?

Davina Porter is the absolute best at reading like a Scot. I cannot imagine reading the book in print. I could never sound as wonderful as Davina and her accent MAKES the story come alive.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The book is just one moment after another that moves a person. Jamie's love for Claire is always a very moving moment.

    Any additional comments?

The entire Outlander series is great. Diana keeps the story going and you just want to keep reading. I've never physically been to Scotland, but I feel like I've been there many times through the story. It has made me scour the internet for pictures of Scotland and particularly the area the story takes place in. Apparently, a movie and a TV series are in the making.........I along with millions of others are patiently waiting for this to happen. I cannot get enough of OUTLANDER!!! If you haven't read it......you best get started.....you won't regret it!

History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

I could have just wrote this review with four words.....I LOVE THIS BOOK ! I want MORE!

When it comes to the holidays, no story brings us back to the true spirit of giving like O. Henry’s classic "The Gift of the Magi". So this year we’ve asked some of your favorite Audible narrators—Audie Award winners Katherine Kellgren, Oliver Wyman, and Jonathan Davis—to bring to life this timeless tale, plus two more of O. Henry’s gems: "The Cop and the Anthem" and "The Last Leaf", in this holiday collection.
