When acclaimed Washington Post writer Wil Haygood had an early hunch that Obama would win the 2008 election, he thought he'd highlight the singular moment by exploring the life of someone who had come of age when segregation was so embedded in the culture as to make the very thought of a black president inconceivable. He struck gold when he tracked down Eugene Allen, a butler who had served eight presidents, from Harry Truman to Ronald Reagan. Forest Whitaker narrates the story of this remarkable man who, while serving tea and supervising buffets, was also a witness to history.

What disappointed you about The Butler?

The Butler is not a book!
It is nothing but a political ad and an attempt to make obama (I refuse to use any caps on that name) some kind of a god. There is nothing about--what it was like to serve hundreds of people during a state dinner, how many persons are needed to serve a state dinner, how people have changed over the years both guests and staff, what were his routine daily duties, did he have to polish silver, was he ever scared he might droop something, how often he had to be invisible during his job, were there any parts of his job he didn't like, what was the feeling inside the White House during holidays, funerals, first time visits of a new leader of a country, was there ever a time they were afraid something might happen to the White House as during the Cold War, what changed when the President was out of town-----NOTHING AT ALL!
A total waste of good money and time!

Would you ever listen to anything by Wil Haygood again?

    NEVER

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrators?

    Anyone who didn't worship obama!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disgust nothing but disgust.

    Any additional comments?

Save your money, save all the time you will waste-reading or listening followed by expelling everything you have eaten in the past 48 hours in the bathroom. If this trash
Is what you want Al Sharpen, or any radical pro- racist will be a much better use of your time.

With the children away, and the death of Franklin’s mother, it looked as if it would be a gloomy Christmas. Then the maid discovered something quite remarkable in the walk-in refrigerator: A corpse.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is a wonderful book written by the late ELLIOT ROOSEVELT. I started reading the hardback books just a few years before ELLIOT died and have loved everyone and wished there could have been many more. Once you fall in love with Eleanor, you want more and more about her interesting life.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

ELEANOR ROOSEVELT becomes a very smart lady that could very easily be your friend. Even though these books are fiction, you will be surprised to discover just how many plots contain true facts, such as the MOB'S help during WWII on the shipping docks and during the invasion of Sicily and of course the WINSTON HOURS.

What does Nelson Runger bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Another point of view and interpretation of the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    I love the whole book.

PLEASE bring all the ELEANOR ROOSEVELT MYSTERIES to audible.com!

What disappointed you about Oath of Honor?

This book should have never been published! There is nothing about medical practice or values. This book makes me want to vomit!! Who cares anything about lesbian lovers?I am completely disgusted with Audiible.com for ever offering this SMUTT. Shame on you Audible.com !!!!!!

What do you think your next listen will be?

Nothing that is trash like this book or about any lesbians, that is for sure. Children use this website and should never be exposed to this filth and garbage! Shame on you Audible.com I thought you at least had some morals. Now I know you do not! I will have to be extra careful with my purchases from now on. At least put this Porn and every book with characters who share this abomination in a separate place where decent people will never come across it.

What didn’t you like about Betsy Zajko’s performance?

Shame on you for giving your approval to this PORN,!!!!! I will make sure never to buy a book you have anything to do with.

What character would you cut from Oath of Honor?

Every one of them! This book should be burned and never allowed in print. It is revolting!

    Any additional comments?

How this SMUTT PORN ever passed censors is beyond me. It does show how far this country has fallen into the same pit of ooze this trash evolved from. Filthy Porn like this must be outlawed and the author of this smutt belongs behind bars. Filth will always be filth!

When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early 40s, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils.... Pagford is not what it at first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the town's council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A story worth listening to ,would be first and second loose the dirty words that are not needed but there only to show a reader that J.K.Rowlings knows a lot of dirty words. It is as if she is seeing who wins the dirty word game.

What could J. K. Rowling have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Write an actual story.

How could the performance have been better?

Had a plot and storyline to work with.

What character would you cut from The Casual Vacancy?

    Every one of them.

Would you consider the audio edition of Aunt Dimity Down Under to be better than the print version?

    I always buy audiobooks.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love all the main characters. Every character is needed to tell the story and all their
    own point of view.

Which character – as performed by Teri Clark Linden – was your favorite?

    I like then all..

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A Film you don't have to worry about taking all ages to see. and HOW CAN A BLUE BOOK SOLVE A MYSTERY?

    Any additional comments?

This is a wonderful book with no overly descriptive violence, sex, hate between people
and races, only good clean fun. This is a book you can even let the preacher see and read when you are done without any embarrassment. Your school age pre-teens and teens can even discuss this book with their grandmother and neither will be ashamed of any part or character.
