Explaining the long-term fallout that can result from seemingly minor emotional and psychological injuries, Dr. Winch offers concrete, easy-to-use exercises backed up by hard cutting-edge science to aid in recovery. He uses relatable anecdotes about real patients he has treated over the years and often gives us a much needed dose of humor as well.

This book is really terrific. I hesitated to buy it at first because his delivery. is. so. choppy. and. I. thought. it. would. drive. me. nuts. but his voice is surprisingly well modulated and the parts where he quotes his clients are often hilarious.
I listened to it all the way through but its the type of book you can listen to many times. I would definitely buy his other book if audible ever carries it.

From memorable disasters such as New Coke, the XFL, and Tiger Woods’ marriage to less-remembered failures such as Yugo, Cop Rock, and Microsoft’s BOB, Worst Ideas Ever revisits history’s biggest blunders. Whether it’s a pop culture failure or a political one, Worst Ideas Ever uncovers the ridiculous stories behind mistakes so huge, you’ll have to constantly remind yourself that they actually happened.

This was an intriguing view of products that have failed for various reasons. What I found especially fascinating was the number of big companies that have come out with flops despite who knows how many dollars spent on R&D and market research. Each "idea" is covered in only a few minutes so the book is easy to stop and start. I thought the narration was excellent.
My only criticism is over the few political "ideas" which seemed out of place and revealed the author's bias. I always find these unexpected political homilies an unwelcome surprise; like biting down on a piece of broccoli in a mouthful of chocolate cake.

Mindset is one of those rare audio books that can help you make positive changes in your life and at the same time see the world in a new way. A leading expert in motivation and personality psychology, Carol Dweck has discovered in more than 20 years of research that our mindset is not a minor personality quirk: it creates our whole mental world. It explains how we become optimistic or pessimistic. It shapes our goals, our attitude toward work, and ultimately predicts whether or not we will fulfull our potential.

I know how to spell possible but I ran out of characters :) I would give this book and "The Brain on Love" to anyone getting married because I think both are brilliant. This is the kind of book you have to digest slowly which is hard going with this narrator who speaks veryveryveryfast. Luckily you can listen to books at half speed on the audible app which I would recommend because if you have time to think while she is talking you will gain a whole new insight into your life and probably realize that the biggest thing that has ever held you back has been your own mindset.

I've never heard anything so awful. The story was interesting but I couldn't bear to listen to more than 10 minutes at a time before I was overcome with irritation at her delivery. She reads her own life story with less enthusiasm than someone reading a grocery list.

This is a great book on a very dry subject. It was full of very sound, practical and "do-able" advice. Only wish the narrator had been someone else. He sounded like Rod Serling of the Twilight Zone.

Fanny Price, a poor relation of the rich Bertrams, is reluctantly adopted into the family, to be brought up at Mansfield Park, where she is condescendingly treated. Only her cousin, Edmund, a young clergyman, appreciates her fine qualities. Fanny soon falls in love with him, but Edmund is, unfortunately, drawn to the shallow and worldly Mary Crawford.

Terrible narration. She doesn't distinguish between the voices of different characters so it's hard to tell who is speaking in a dialogue. Definitely choose another narrator because the book itself is wonderful.

But eventually, troubled people come to Precious with a variety of concerns. Absolutely loved it and I am not someone that loves reading fiction.! This has the charm of a children's book but written for adults. Lisette Lecat is SUPERB! I will definitely be buying more of the author's books especially if they are read by the same narrator.

I'm so happy I got this book because the sample clip is horrible. It says absolutely nothing about the content of the book. I heard about this book from someone on the radio and it sounded so interesting that I looked up the author Stan Tatkin on YouTube. He has a short video on a homecoming exercise that gives you a little taste of what this book is about.

I have learned more about myself and why I act the way that I do in relationships, from this book than from all the counselors and other books I've read, all put together.

In his previous best-selling books, Peter Walsh helped audiences successfully get rid of the clutter in their homes, on their bodies, and in the six key emotional and spiritual areas of their lives. Now, in Lighten Up, Walsh explores what happens when the clutter is finally gone and shows listeners how to let go of wanting more and learn to live a richer, fuller life with what they already own.

I love this book! I learned so much about myself and the impact clutter has on my life. I listen to this book every week as I tackle the clutter in my house and find it inspirational every time.
I don't know why they picked John Lee to narrate this book when he has a similar accent to Peter Walsh yet minus the passion for the subject. I thought he read too fast but the content is still 5 stars.
