Patty and Walter Berglund were the new pioneers of old St. Paul - the gentrifiers, the hands-on parents, the Whole Foods generation. Patty was the ideal sort of neighbor, who could tell you where to recycle your batteries and how to get the local cops to do their job. She was an enviably perfect mother and the wife of Walter's dreams. Together with Walter - environmental lawyer, commuter cyclist, total family man - she was doing her small part to build a better world.

Not really what I was expecting from an Oprah book. I was expecting more. It did tie together at the end, but way to long to get to that.

If you could sum up Inferno in three words, what would they be?

    Interesting, paced well

What other book might you compare Inferno to and why?

    Indiana jones, and the goonies

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I thought it was a little far fetched and I got bored at some parts but for the most part I enjoyed and kept interested. I like the search for a treasure at the end of the rainbow kinda book.

In 1998, in the small East Texas city of Sloan, he abducted, raped, and strangled a popular high-school cheerleader. He buried her body so that it would never be found, then watched in amazement as police and prosecutors arrested and convicted Donté Drumm, a local football star, and marched him off to death row.

Why we think it’s a great listen: How do you one-up a book that’s already a global literary phenomenon? Hire Simon Vance to (flawlessly) interpret the loves, lives, and murders of Sweden’s cold and secret-filled world. A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue. It's about the disappearance 40 years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden.

Pamela Murphy says: "COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN"
    "amazing story"
    Overall

I must say it was a little hard to get into the book at the beginning, but then wow hold on cause it takes off fast. I had a hard time figuring out the money, because I only know dollars. Not the Swedish currency, but it didn't make that big of a difference.
