    Overall

Excellent little summary of how to prepare and build your confidence for one of those most gruelling experiences - the job interview. I loved her model and concept of using your 'voice' (more than just your vocal cords) and clearly expressing key messages. I used this one to successfully interview for my new job! She is a professional trainer and ensures her voice is dynanic (perhaps a little too much at times) throughout.

I really connected with the message in thi book and the authors seemed to back up their assertions with quality research. I liked the breadth of examples used - from couples negotiating for fair housework division to high flying execs brokering deals. I hope it helps many more women..

From everyday stress to severe trauma, many obstacles to a full life can be overcome by developing what Dr. Daniel J. Siegel calls "mindsight," our ability to perceive the mind and literally redirect the flow of energy and information within our brains. Through this powerful capacity for insight and empathy, we can "rewire" crucial connections, create dynamic linkages, and open ourselves to relationships in a new way.

Anastasia Burke says: "DO NOT MISS THIS BOOK!"
    "Gets a little boring"
    Overall

Very thorough and well researched but I ended up turning it off 1/2 way. I think the explanations were just too long and the theory and principles of mindfulness and positive psychology overcomplicated here.

Conventional wisdom holds that if we work hard we will be more successful, and if we are more successful, then we’ll be happy. If we can just find that great job, win that next promotion, lose those five pounds, happiness will follow. But recent discoveries in the field of positive psychology have shown that this formula is actually backward: Happiness fuels success, not the other way around. When we are positive, our brains become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work.

Roy says: "Very Informative Application of Positive Psycholog"
    "Enjoyed"
    Overall

This was an easy listening commensense description and application of positive pyschology and its potential. Nothing new but packaged in an easy to access and useful way. The author's own experiences as a scholar and practitioner added a depth that brought the principles to life.
