In 1918, after four harrowing years on the Western Front, Tom Sherbourne returns to Australia to take a job as the lighthouse keeper on remote Janus Rock. To this isolated island, where the supply boat comes only four times a year and shore leaves are granted every other year at best, Tom brings a young, bold, and loving wife, Isabel.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The narration left much to be desired. He dropped his voice at the end of each sentence and it came out garbled. I missed a lot of the story.

    Any additional comments?

    Better read than listened to.

A place of intoxicating beauty . . . where trouble hits with the force of a hurricane.Inheriting a beautiful old hotel on the Outer Banks could be a dream come true for Libby. The inn cries out for her restorer’s talent and love of history. She’s delighted to learn of the family she never knew she had.
