I am a fan of the special features on DVD/Blueray movies... this was very much like that, in audiobook form.
Read and Listened to Timothy Zahn's Star Wars Heir to the Empire series
Entertaining, sexy, even compelling!
Molly Harper's works are a fun and easy escape. Great stories with stimulating and amusing characters and plot lines.
Amanda Ronconi's performance for the Naked Werewolf series is spot on! Each book takes on a different character from that universe, but Amanda brings each character their own unique voice and charm. She also brings just the right tension and suspense when appropriate.
This is the third installment of the Naked Werewolf series. Each book follows different women in the NW universe, each telling their own captivating, fun and/or mysterious, and sexy stories. Not your typical romance/fantasy novel. Charming, humorous and great fun.
After trudging through the last book/performance, I decided to give the next one a chance. Again, I don't know if it was the material itself or the somber performance of the reader or both -- but I could not finish listening. It was dull and tiresome to listen to. I couldn't finish it.
I think Ilyanna was a good choice for the mood of the character. However, I don't know if it was material or the performer's voice, but it made me sleepy many times.
I decided to "read" the books after watching the movie series, of which the first Twilight I enjoyed the most. I thought it captured a unique mood and characters throughout that the rest of the films consistently lost. I was told by a family member who read the entire series that it was a decent read. Opting to listen to the audiobook, I found it a bit boring. I don't know if it was due to the somber voice of the reader or if it was the material or combination of both.
I have followed Shatner's work since I became a Star Trek fan...but he's hasn't been my favorite. In recent years, however, he has become more and more entertaining and charming.
This audiobook was a delight! Shatner tells a great, interesting and entertaining story with all his unique charm and style.
Interesting story of his past to present adventures. It was fun to listen to and had recommended it to friends and family.
Shatner's distinct voice, style and charisma
The reader did well with the material at hand.
Some stories were intriguing, fun and sexy... but some were downright disturbing and I had to stop listening.
Yes! I had read the Heir to the Empire series ages ago when they were first released -- Marc Thompson brings the all ready known characters and story up to fantastic levels. The added sound effects are amazing and fun, they envelope the listener, including them in the story... like an old radio play. I recently gave this book series and audio book to my 13 year old, who also enjoyed them immensely.
All. Growing up a Star Wars fan and reader of related novels... this series is the best.
I loved Simon Pegg's performance and enthusiasm in telling is own story. I was a semi-fan before listening to this book, now I am a true fan.
Pegg. His failures and triumphs make a wonderful story.
His story told in his own voice, complete with the corresponding emotional experiences.
I love the continuation of the Georgina Kincaid story.... it keeps the depth of characters and doesn't lose the mystery component or the great writing as some series do.
The main mystery/character arch throughout the series has a suspenseful, intriguing, and satisfying conclusion. The whole puzzle comes together in a captivating way. I wish the series didn't end, however, Richelle Mead found the recipe to write an enthralling, charming, sexy, and humorous entire series with a genuinely great ending.
Elisabeth Rodgers has truly been fantastic throughout the series, bringing to life the wonderful words on the page. She echos the humanity, grace, sensuality and humor of Georgina in the book and injects a certain vitality and spirit in to, not only the hero, but to all the characters.
Yes, if time could allow such a thing.
