If you could sum up The Husband List in three words, what would they be?

    surprising. entertaining. interesting

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love her and she is great with all of Janet Evanovich's books. You always know which character is speaking.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    yes. I could have

    Any additional comments?

When I purchased this book, I thought it would be a lot like her other books but I was surprised. I usually don't like books that are set so far back in time, but I loved this book. It was so interesting. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Evanovich's other books.

When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early 40s, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils.... Pagford is not what it at first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the town's council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen.

What did you like best about The Casual Vacancy? What did you like least?

The narrator is very good and does well to change his voice for each character. The story just never gets interesting to me. All the people have dire circumstances in their lives and it is very dark. I just didn't care for it. I loved Harry Potter so I was hoping to be captured from the first page. I finally stopped listening a third of the way through. Maybe it gets better but I am not in the mood to keep listening right now.

Has The Casual Vacancy turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No not really.

It was just another after-work happy-hour bar downtown, where business professionals unwound with a few drinks, complained about the boss, maybe hooked up with someone for the night. Until something went terribly wrong. At first it was just a friction in the air. The noise intensified. The crowd seemed oppressive. Some sharp words were exchanged, some pushing and shoving. Then the madness descended. And after 12 minutes of chaos and violence, 80 people lay dead.

What made the experience of listening to Delusion In Death the most enjoyable?

Hearing the narrator read in different voices makes the story come to life. I can't wait to ride in the car so I can listen.
