Eve Dallas is a New York police lieutenant hunting for a ruthless killer. In over 10 years on the force, she's seen it all - and knows that her survival depends on her instincts. And she's going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire - and suspect in Eve's murder investigation. But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it's up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about - except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.

Felicity Fairchild says: "Don't Judge the Series by the First Book!"
    "Some inconsistencies and fluff added"
    Overall

Overall I like this book. It is the first one in the series and I will try another in hopes that it gets better.

I found Eve's actions to be somewhat inconsistent - she is such a hard nosed, uncaring person one moment and then completely compassionate the next! Considering these actions and her dysfunctional upbringing its amazing she would pass any psychological examination.

It also felt as though the graphic sex scenes between her and Roarke were added just to make the book longer, they added no real value.

Why we think it’s a great listen: How do you one-up a book that’s already a global literary phenomenon? Hire Simon Vance to (flawlessly) interpret the loves, lives, and murders of Sweden’s cold and secret-filled world. A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue. It's about the disappearance 40 years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden.

    "Fantastic read"
    Overall

This book was fantastic, very hard to stop listening. Stieg does a masterful job of maintaining the suspense - you can hardly wait for the next chapter.

The colorful, detailed descriptions really put you in the scene.

Nice plot twists all along the way.

Can wait to get the next book in the series "The girl Who Played with Fire!"
