  • Often Wrong, Never in Doubt: Unleash the Business Rebel Within

    • ABRIDGED (5 hrs and 13 mins)
    • By Donny Deutsch, Peter Knobler
    • Narrated By Peter Knobler

Often Wrong, Never in Doubt is an inspirational book from one of America's most colorful and exciting entrepreneurs. Donny Deutsch lays out the core principles that propelled him to create tremendous wealth, build a huge and influential business, and become a national personality.

    "Deutsch is cool!"

Having only first heard of Deutsch from the Apprentice last year, then his CNBC show shortly after, I found myself wanting to hear more about how he got started. The book is very good for anyone interested in hearing what Deutsch has to say. He's smart, creative and innovative. The reader does a great job - sounds just like Donny. Basically, he goes into his life in some detail, how he got started, his first big account, things he did wrong, his philosophy for doing things a certain way. I'd say it was inspiring somewhat. Not overwhelmingly inspiring, he doesn't give you tips on how to be successful or anything like that - just his way of doing things and his outlook on life.

    "It's Ok, but not Great!"

I bought the book thinking I would get more out of it, but that wasn't the case. The author gives you a few ideas and a process to use, but for someone like me who is already using a Franklin, I needed more. I wanted maybe a unique trick on getting things done. I wanted something that I didn't think of already. Basically, he talks about how things are thrown at us from all different directions, emails, projects etc. The best way to handle these would be to write them down. The things that can take two minutes to complete, do them first, write an action list etc. General basic stuff you can get from the web. I wanted more. One thing I got out of it was the "Mind like Water" reference. Stay calm at all times, if something is thrown your way, react as water would. It would react to the force, but then it would go back to calm. Little things like that I picked up from the book, but overall - I would have liked more. It's ok, but not great.
