This book was very entertaining but I felt like it just stopped. There was no ending, all these unanswered questions and it is over. The author just leaves so much to your own imagination. I felt disappointed and wanted at least another chapter.
Incredibly gorgeous and insanely wealthy guy with control and commitment issues meets pretty young thing (who is also gorgeous but is not aware of it) . . . It was entertaining, but somewhat predictable. This was a BOGO deal so I did not mind. I did not feel it was worthy of a full credit.
I took a chance and got this book in a BOGO deal and it is fabulous. This historical fiction novel takes place from the around the1860s until the 1960s. Over the century, you follow three generations of the McIvey men. This story has humor, history and emotion. Beware, there are a few tear-jerking moments, but overall it has a good message. I also felt the ending was a little abrupt. Otherwise great!
This was a 4.95 special. It was a cute love story. It was a light, easy listen. Enjoyable.
This is an amazing, moving story that takes place during the Roman Empire, after the death of Jesus. Although fiction, the author gives a very interesting and insightful glimpse into this famous era of history. This is a Christian novel, but do not think this is a light read. There is violence, audultery, deceit and greed throughout the story. Francine Rivers does not sugar coat anything. She tells it like it is. I loved it!
Moving, thought-provoking, amazing! I absolutely loved this historical fiction novel. The author is extremely gifted in relating the biblical story of the prophet Hosea through fictional characters in the 1800's. This author doesn't sugar-coat it. She tells it like it is. She does not shield you from the evils of the world, but provides an insightful message. Ultimately, we are all selfish. Can we overcome those natural tendencies, and love others as Christ has loved us? . . . Forgive others as Christ has forgiven us? This book will make you think.
I absolutely loved this series!!! I thought each book was fabulous! Through the trilogy, you will see America (the main character) grow, mature and make difficult decisions. Can she put the well-being of her country before her own desires? How will Maxen lead the country? Can he stand up for what he believes in? Can he stand up to his father? Very entertaining. Finished in 2 days. Eventhough it is short, it is well worth a credit!
Amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed this brilliantly written novel. This is a story of two women from different times and worlds who are both "left behind". The two stories of these women are connected by a painting. A painting, that to them, is priceless because of the connection it has to their husbands. Each woman must decide to what lengths she is willing to go to protect someone or something that she loves. Though at times tragic, this story will keep you on the edge of your seat. Enjoy!
Well written, good Christian message, enjoyable listen. Credit worthy. I will listen to one of her books again.
Great story but I would have preferred the abridged version. I found myself fast forwarding through a few chapters. Their were two narrators. One which I liked very much but the minister, Phillippa, had an annoying voice. Good message.
Very entertaining. Kept my attention but I think I liked the first book better. At some point I will listen to the third but not compelled at this time.
