I tried this out - since a friend gave it a 5 star review. I have been listening to audio books all year - and this was a dramatization - from a BBC radio program. I thoroughly enjoyed the added sound effects that helped to create the scene. However, I was getting lost between the different actors/voices and I think I would have preferred to hear the original. Overall, I liked the story - and I will give Agatha Christie another try. I just think I will look for the actual book version next time, instead of the dramatization.
Good intro to this series. I want to read more and have already purchased the next in the series.
My director recommended I read this book because I was deceived by one of my direct reports. It makes me sad how deceptive individuals can be and I feel I am more aware now. However, not sure if I am more aware based on my real-life experience or because of this book.
This was a good companion book to Wonder. I enjoyed the grandmother's tale that explains Julian's namesake. The book is really geared toward YA but I think the combination of books (Wonder and The Julian Chapter) can be helpful for kids growing up and for adults who want to talk to their kids. Now, I am not a parent, and the books were thought-provoking.
I did like this autobiography and the unique approach. However, it did seem like it went on and on for a very long time. Did it need to be so long? I did enjoy it - but thought it could be more concise.
I like Robin Sharma. He can be inspiring. However, he tends to drop names a lot -- and that gets annoying. The first half kept me engaged, but I don't really remember the second half (and probably more critical portion of the lecture.)
I was charmed by the first in the series. While I do not think the narrator is the best choice - she is growing on me and I am getting used to her in this second in the series. I am now looking forward to the next book.
I was enchanted by this tale. Interesting twist on the normal magic/wizard/fairy tales. I am going to read more in the series.
This book is so much more than Auggie's point of view. You get the perspective of others and I think that made the book so much more. It gives you a lot to think about.
Sorry if I not like everyone else -- but I did not like this one as much as the first.
Really enjoyed how Stephen King created the scene and details he puts into his stories. This audio recording also included The Dune.
