the narration was a hoot. Recommended for those who want some good clan fun...and a little blimey
Can't say only listened to the audio.
I was kept intrigued and interested.
Yes, although the male interpretations were kinda odd.
Yes and No
A good story, had me guessing but it also left a lot of things hanging at the end.
A different book altogether or a more captivating main character..he just came across as shallow and mucky.
Nope...too little inflection in her tone and no emotion....flat
Not sure, couldn't stay awake or focused long enough to absorb anything I can recall...period
Very shallow characters, bland interactions from what I can remember....just seemed tawdry and thin....Mind you I like tawdry but not, what is in my opinion, boring tawdry.
It is up there for one reason, Twisted and fearless in this twisted-ness
Whittier; can't tell too much but because he is a classically corrupt, twisted, fiendish type of dude.
Hmm, can't say...a voice
Yes and No....sometimes you just need to process what you just heard for a minute....chew on it ((wink))
If you like dark, dirty, twisted and taboo this book is sooo for you!
The gritty truth of the story and the unwavering bond within a family
Yes, It is a compelling and raw story that is disturbing, yet so very real and more common than society would like to think. The author takes a brutally courageous approach to the subject matter and openly shows how the characters are impacted by their situations.
I have not, but would consider doing so; she has great tone and is a very good narrator based on this experience.
“Everything that comes to us is a blessing or a test. That’s all you need to know in this life.”
This book is raw, the physical and sexual abuse and how this forms the child's psyche is disturbing but oh so real. Some reviewers seemed to feel that there was too much focus on the sexual abuse and masturbation, I have to completely disagree; it is a part of the story but by far not at all the whole story, so please don't let the negative reviews deter you. This is a hauntingly good read.
Being drawn into the story, gripping, wanting, no needing to know more.
Lisa, for her never-ending belief and sacrifice for it.
All of them, she did well with all the variables.
Lisa and The King of the Fairies ..Lisa for her naivety and unfaltering faith and The King for his guise and twisted reality developed at the hands of twisted fate.
Good narration, Great dark story. I love the twists and the ability of this story to completely pull you in and leave you cringing.
Great, I mean gritty great, psychologically disturbing, but mind blowingly great character development... the twisted psyche of the family members is absolutely enamoring.
Too many, one would have to be Mungo's demise and Ms Lick's last foot bath.
Made me think, cringe, laugh, wonder, contemplate and cry.
Highly recommended to those out there who appreciate the dark side of human psyche, those who can appreciate twisted beauty outside the mainstream and those of you who enjoy a true story that will leave you wanting more.
Way Up There... TOPS!
Well.... how can I put this? The part that referred to the anatomy of man...LOL
Her delivery is great, as always, raunchy yup... and I love her lack of a filter
Several moments had me crossing my legs (wink)... I was laughing so hard
If your a prude pass it by, If you want to laugh out loud don't!
Great narration interesting character twist and the story is fun. This is a great story; there is a mystery, mixed with fantasy, science and romance. Started out a tad bit dreary but quickly picked up more and more, the ending will leave you wanting more. I listened and did not want to stop.
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly; for the mystery and character development.
Against the Oak and the ending, won't say more no spoiler here.
I tried, If I could I would have...
I recommend this for listeners of all ages, very enjoyable...
The familiar characters and intrigue of where the
The Drums of Autumn
It is what it is, a bridge to the next in the series, not as good as the first or the second and just an FYI, the third is better than this.
Yes, for the sake of the series.
Really good narration however in my opinion Faulkner is better read than listened too after a while the run on sentences get a bit monotonous when listening.
