I liked that the book made you think about where society is headed. It presents the good and evil of progress and how far humanity may go to try to perfect itself and its systems.
Yes, I was intrigued by the various characters and Mae's next moves.
I highly recommend listening to The Circle. Dion Graham continues to be one of my favorite narrators and Eggers tops the list of authors and storytellers for me. This book will definitely make you think about how you use the internet and social media and presents a view of a future that is not all that far fetched.
Great narrator! Perfect job differentiating between characters. The story is a bit slow at the beginning, but once it picked up I didn't want to stop listening. Interesting, relatable characters with real world problems. The book provides a platform for talking about many important issues. Overall, great listen. I think it would be great for a book club!
Her voice. The stories she tells and the new wave of feminism she is proclaiming somehow becomes even more meaningful and hilarious at the same time with her tone and perfectly timed exclamations. The British accent doesn't hurt when hearing why she prefers to call her breasts "tits" and why women should stop shaving their "muffs."
Caitlin Moran is my new hero.
Yes, it was a great story - one of those where you continue to question if this is really happening somewhere in the world...
Mr. Penumbra for sure
This is a great read/listen that I would definitely suggest for someone looking for a lighthearted story. People who love books, art, typography, secret societies, adventure and/or friendship should find something enjoyable in this work!
