After aliens invade and conquer Earth, Eva is transported to a distant slave-trading planet. Freedom and escape are her only priorities, but none of her martial arts training could have prepared her for enslavement to the warrior King Taio. Eva finds herself drawn to this sexy alien male who ignites her heart and body. Taio is disgusted with the idea of owning a slave - until now. From the moment he sees her, he knows Eva is his for the taking. Torn between lust and duty, Taio discovers nothing will stop him from protecting his little warrior.

    Story

Pushover is the only word that comes to mind when thinking about this story. When I started reading this book I was excited about the heroine. She displayed a good mix of bravery, strength and femininity without being to overbearing or whiny. She was strong when the situation warranted such actions but still remain feminine and likeable. That is until the middle of the story. I’m not going to reveal the story but I am going to say she took a huge turn for the worse. She went from being a brave female facing a unknown world and future to a pathetic pushover that was easily conquered with sex. She allowed him to manipulate her, very easily I might add, into doing everything he wanted from her. Although he never truly called her his sex slave, he treated her as such and she allowed it. Taio is unbelievable and not in the OMG, he is a sex god meaning. He wants his cake and eat it too. He wants Eva for himself but refuses to even consider her as his possibly future mate. I just don’t believe his transformation in the end.

Warning, this book contains some f/f scenes that are extremely detailed. If that is something that you don’t like then don’t listen to this book. The actually scenes didn’t bother me; it’s the manner in which they were written that were annoying to me. Would I recommend this book, I’m on the fence about it. Like I said, the story starts off great; it’s about mid way through that I wanted to stop listening, groan and wondering about the sanity of the heroine.

As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, whether it's booze, drugs, or women. However, when a PR disaster serves as a wake-up call about his life and lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant to keep him out of trouble. Lena's not willing to take any crap from the sexy rocker and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry.

This book of the series, so far, is my favorite because of how heartbreakingly real the story felt to me. This book wasn't about a drunken, forgotten weekend in Vegas or a partly planned scheme for appearances (although both were fantastic in their own right), this book was about a man, broken, alone and hurting and a woman that refuses to give up on him when the world and said man have called it quits.

Jimmy, the lead singer of Stage Dive, is in need of a new assistant. Since going to rehab for his drinking and drug abuse, Jimmy has been desperately trying to stay clean and sober. He has no other choice. He is either clean or out of the band. He is arrogant, moody, closed off and refuses to share anything with anyone, not even his own brother David, the lead guitarist of the group.

Unfortunately for Jimmy he has meet his match with Lena. She was once discussed by an ex as being complicated and untouchable, which will be perfect for Lena when dealing with “the moody damn rockstar” (her words not mine). But soon after starting the job, she is exposed to a side of Jimmy rarely, if ever, seen. This opens up a flood of questions and feelings, she never wanted to have for the “arrogant prick” (again her words). Now she is face with the decision, should she stay or should she go, because going hurts just as much as staying and Jimmy is determine to make her stay.

There are a couple of parts of this book that I cried because I seriously felt the characters pain and anguish. I mean love can be a difficult. But more often I was laughing out loud. Lena is hilarious and Kylie's writing of the character is pure perfection. She give the main heroine just the right amount of sass and vulnerability. She also makes you want to love to hate Jimmy. One point he is being really self absorb and a total jerk. The next moment he is baring his soul for only Lena to see and feel.

Please read this book, its really really good. My favorite of the series if I haven't said that already. But if you haven't read the previous two books, I would suggest start with Lick first. Each book can be read as a standalone but are so much more delicious when read in order. ENJOY!!!!

This book of the series is definitely a must read. I was starting to get a little frustrated with the Immortal Guardians series. It was starting to follow a very predictable formula. But this book, this book has once again restored my love of this series. FYI, some questions still haven't been answered(groan) but there will be answers to other questions. This book doesn't have a cliffhanger, per se. It does have a HEA.

From the previous books, you already know that Lisette is starting to harbor secret feelings for the renegade immortal Zach. The one and only person on Seth’s shit list. But that doesn’t stop Lisette from helping Zach when she founds him badly beaten, bruised and bloody in her back yard. She lovely helps nurse him back to health with the aid of Bastian (the black sheep himself), knowing this will enraged Seth. She cannot understand the connection she feels towards the ancient immortal but she does realize she is willing to risk everything just to be with him.

Zach is something more. He never thought he was capable of being anything other than what he was until Lisette stepped into his life. With her, he truly understands what it is to live again. So when he almost loses her in a battle, he decides to put away old strife between him and Seth and help the Immortals Guardians, all because of his love for this dark warrior. And Zach for all his millennium of living and untold secrets, finding love is the greatest and scariest thing in his life.

The book contains, as with the series, the right combination of action, romance, suspense and passion. The fight scenes that the Immortal encounter are detailed. Dianne, as always, describes anything in such detail that you not only picture the fight, but you feel as if you are in the midst of battle. Although I think this book had a bit more of a serious tone than the previous four, it still added unexpected hilarious moments, which you may find yourself smiling or laughing along with the characters in the book. The romance scenes are rocking hot. The combine just the right amount of sexual tension, passion and drool worthy smex. YUM!!! Although unlike the other books, this book kept the suspense throbbing and alive for me the entire book. Even now, I'm thinking through different scenes from the book trying to answer unanswered questions. I think that is what makes it worthwhile, when I want to reread a book because I'm left questioning and speculating about different chapters of a book.

Every time I listen to a book that Kristen Potter narrators, I found a new facet of her voice that I enjoy. She gives each characters the right amount of distinguishable accent for their nationality. I particular loved her voice for Aiden (secretly hoping his book is next).

My two cents is to buy this book. If you have read the series in the past and thought it was getting predictable, this book will hopefully bring you back into the world of the Immortal Guardians.

Of all the New Species books, this would have to be my least favorite, so far. That is not to say that I didn’t enjoy listening to the book because I did. I just thought the heroine was annoying. Why is it that people that have a lot of book sense don’t really have any common sense. Let me explain.

Dr. Allison Baker (Allie) risks everything (her life, her career, her job) to save a new species that is currently in a coma. She kidnaps Obsidian aka 880 and takes him to a rental house to try to coerce him to awaken using her scent. Obsidian has been in a coma since injuring himself trying to save his mate, when she was killed in front of him by some technicians. He has never known freedom and doesn’t understand that he and his people are free, do you see Allie’s first mistake. Allie then agrees to stay in his room with him, even though he has been somewhat hostile towards her to help him "adjust to freedom", do you see her second mistake. In the end they both get their HEA, but some of Allie decisions just left me confused about this character.

On the other hand, I love Obsidian. He is the perfect prototype of a new species man. He is gorgeous, fierce, and protective and loves hard. He knows he shouldn’t want Allie because she is human but doggoneit, he is determined to have her even if it means learning to accept that not all humans are evil.

This book also lacked some of the action that was previous of the other books. But the storyline is still interesting and it’s also interesting when you learn about Obsidian full background. I think his background was bittersweet, even if he did have a mate. As always, the romance scenes are steamy, hot and drool worthy. It helps keep my work time interesting.

Overall, I think you should read the book, if not for anything just to learn about Obsidian and his life and to catch up on the rest of the New Species characters.

I like Malcolm. From the first book, I fell in love with his quirky sense of humor and his outlook on life. I was eagerly anticipating his book and the woman that would capture the laid back drummer’s heart. This being said I loved Ann. The thoughts that randomly run through her head, is hilarious. I guess it’s safe to assume since Malcolm sense of humor was quirky that his perfect match would be quirky as well.

Ann agrees to let Mal move into her apartment with her and be his pretend girlfriend, in exchange Mal will help Ann with the rent that her lousy ex roommate stuck her with. Mal needs to prove that he is changing his life around, if only for awhile. Ann never realized that the man behind the drums was a good man as well as a good person. But something is holding the both of them back from truly committing to this fake relationship (they are so fooling themselves). They both are keeping secrets, that will eventually shake their so call pretend relationship into something neither wanted but both needed.

Kylie Scott is an awesome writer. I was captivated by this book from chapter 1. You are instantly enthralled by the characters in this book and become intertwined in their daily lives and the drama of being a rock band. The dialogues between the characters are hilarious and Mal, well he is Mal. The romance scenes are playful but also steamy. They didn’t scorch my headphone but did leave me panting.

My vote is to buy this book or use a credit, whatevas. Sit back and enjoy this delightful romantic comedy.

The vampires have come out of the coffin and a new drug hits the streets, called “Crimson Rush”. This new drug is the blood of vampires and it’s gives the user an unbelievable high. Because of the drug, vampires have been changing children into vampires in order to create a constant supply of the drug. This draws in social worker, Nicole Callahan and her coworkers to protect this vulnerable children. She is an extremely dedicated to protecting children, both human and vampire, and will stop at nothing to make sure there are not harmed. Because her job and her co workers have become increasingly dangerous, her boss brings in vampires from the vampire council to instruct them on proper defense against all attacks, let’s bring in warrior Damon Demasters, HELLO MISTER VAMPIRE!

Damon is an alpha vampire and a warrior, a dynamic duo of a personality. He realizes Nicole is his mate from the moment he sees her but denies that idea because of a tragedy in his past (I’m not telling, read the book). He loves the fact that Nicole puts everyone‘s safety above her own, which he considers a rarity both in human and vampires, but also hates that very same idea because she is always getting into trouble. Nicole is a no nonsense, let me do it, out to save the world type of heroine. She always puts others ahead of herself and loves her job. Nicole wants Damon but refuses to make herself available to him only to be hurt again.

The story is well developed and interesting. I would have like a little more background information about the vampires and the vampire council before they decided to make their presence known to the world. But I like the protectors and their sense of humor.

The narrator’s voice is very deep but not always exciting. He can sometimes be monotone when he is talking. But if you can get pass that, it's not that bad.

Yes buy the book; it’s a good vampire book, with some action, decent romance scenes and funny interaction between characters. In my book, that’s a good read.

I have mixed feelings about this book. It was a decent paranormal romance and I found myself liking Mandy Roth as an author the more books I read of hers but some aspects of this book I find extremely difficult to believe.

    Pros:
The book contain a decent amount of action. It was just enough for the listener not to get bored.
The characters are well developed within the story each providing their own tragic back story.
The angst between the hero and the heroine is heartbreaking in it's intensity but also heartwarming. Loving someone for that amount of time and to such a degree that no one compares is both tragic and poetic.

    Cons:
Just because someone changes their last name and grows up, doesn't mean you forget how they look. I understand you have been through some tragedy in the last three years but seriously, you have no idea who this man is to you. I'm not going to give away any spoilers, but it's suffice to say, I caught myself thinking a couple of times, “are you really this stupid”.
What about Exavier's mom? Why did she do what she did? Will that question ever be answered?
The narrators voice sounding as if she was reading an YA book at times and then a truly great paranormal romance book at other times. I wish she would had stuck with the latter more times in the book.

Bottom line, I don't know I'm on the fence with this book. I purchased it because it was on sale but I don't think I would us a credit to purchase this book.

PSI-Ops is a fast paced story about were shifters, witches, fae and other creatures that go bump in the night. This story centers around Duke, who is a centuries old werewolf that doesn't trust anyone except his team and Mercy Deluca, a uber genius who lacks social skills. Mercy is working for a company that is doing horrible testing on people, shifters and animals. She is desperate to get a message to a test subjects team members to help her free the trapped prisoners and unfortunately (or fortunately) she reaches Duke instead. The one team member that doesn't like anyone. He thinks she is nuts when Mercy first calls and doesn't realize until later that maybe she isn't as nuts as he first thought.

Duke is an alpha male to the core. He is strong, demanding, overbearing and once he realizes Mercy is his mate, he is very very protective of his woman. Mercy is a genius that doesn't know how to respond to Duke but she knows one thing for certain, she belongs to no man.

The interaction between the team members is hilarious. I like Stryker a lot. I can't wait until I read his book. The side characters make the book enjoyment and the main characters story is sweet and passionate. This books packs a lot of story into the small amount of time. The characters are well developed and the story is action packed with some hilarious moments and passionate smex scenes.

I have never heard the narrator's voice until this book and let me say yummy! I love the accent that he gave to Styker's character. Yes I would definitely look for him again.

Bottom line, yes you should listen to this book. At under eleven dollars, I would say just buy it and save the credit for something a bit more pricey. I'm hoping they put the rest of the series on audible.

The Desperate Housewives of Olympus is probably exactly as you would imagine a book with this title to be about. It is filled with back-stabbing friends, cheating spouses and drama that fills the streets of Ambrosia Lane. Author Saranna DeWylde, provides a hilarious outlook on what really happens on Mt. Olympus.

The story is about Hera, Abstinence, Nyx, Demeter, and Persephone. Hera is finally tired of Zeus’ philandering way and decides it is time to teach an old god a new trick. Since Hades has finally released Persephone from the curse, he is alone again. Hera decides to take this chance to “get her groove back” within none other but mister tall dark and gloomy. But something that turned out to be a plot for revenge because something more.

Abstinence is the new goddess on Ambrosia Lane and immediately, Zeus sets his eyes and wanderlust upon the goddess. But if he thought his sweet words and killer good looks would win him any favors with this goddess, he is sadly mistaken. Abstinence must abstain from over indulgence and that definitely means avoiding the King of the gods at all cost or risks the chance of dying.

Nyx is a titan, older than all of the gods on Olympus. She doesn’t have time for dating or emotional attachment until she becomes pregnant with Apollo's child. Now she must juggle being older than dirt and starting over again with a new baby and her growing emotions for her new “baby daddy”.

Persephone is crushed when Hades released her from the curse and brings her top side to live, once again, with her mother. She realizes too late her feelings for Hades and decides to stop at nothing to win his affection and love again. She using her very good friend Thanatos, god of death, to assist her in making Hades jealous, never realizing that Thanatos is also in love with her.

Demeter is Persephone’s mother and is fighting her own demons. She afraid to love until love itself, Eros the god of love, decides to open up his heart and reveal his true feelings for the goddess. Demeter is afraid to lay bear what she has harbored inside for eons because the truth of her secret will devastate Eros and she believes she will loss his love.

This book is a light hearted, comedy romance read that captured my attention from the first chapter when Hera got mad at Zeus for giving Abstinence her champagne grapes. I know then this book was going to be as if I was watching a soap opera and I loved every moment of it. If you are looking for intensive, detailed romance scenes, this is not the book for you. Yes, there are romance scenes but they are light and passionate but not very detailed in description. It was sometimes difficult distinguishing the voices within the book because the narrator’s male voice weren’t exactly different from the female voices. But I liked the book just the same.

Final question, should you buy this book. Sure, if you are in the middle for a light heart romance book that is quite funny, than this is the book for you.

    Story

Let me first start off by saying that this is a complication of four novellas of the Dark King Series. Almost like a prequel to the series itself. It does make references to the Dark Warriors Series but I don’t think you need to read that series in order to understand this one. This book tells the tales of three dragon kings and the women who captured their hearts. In the days of old (I love how that sounds) dragon ruled the sky. Than man came along and something was needed to communicate between dragon and man. So the most powerful of each dragon kind (color) was given the ability to shift between man and dragon to serve as a middle ground for both species. These individuals were known as the dragon kings. Sometimes a dragon king would take a mortal woman as his mate, forming an eternal bond that would make the woman immortal as long as her dragon was alive. This arrangement worked well until the dragons were betrayed by a dragon king’s mate. This cost countless of lives for both man and dragons alike. In order to protect themselves, the king of king casted a spell that would bind the dragon kings emotions so that they would never fell strong emotions towards a human female ever again. Ok let’s skip some countless years to present day Scotland and our story begins.

The three dragon kings in these novellas have lived since the beginning of time and are content to keep living their lives as they are until each one encounters their mates. Soon they begin to feel the emptiness that millennia of loneliness have created within them. They will stop at nothing for their mates to truly love the man and the dragon. Each woman is different and complex. Cassey is stuck between a rock and a hard place when she meets Hal but she knows there is something special about him. She is determined to prove to him and his king that she loves both the man and the dragon. Elena is driven and fierce. She has finally reached the point in her career that she has been trying to reach her entire life but that all goes to hell when she goes caving with her new boss and meets Guy. Jane is plain or at least that is what she has been told most of her life. Until she meets Banan, he opens her eyes to the beautiful woman that he sees before him. Even with an unknown dangerous villain that knows about the dragon kings and is threatening their way of life but that will not stop Banan from his woman.

I love Antony Feguson voice. It’s so rich and sinful. It’s the perfect voice for a series about dragon shifters because it sets you on fire (ok even I thought that was corny). But his voice is amazing. Love it.

Bottom line, yes buy the book. It’s worth every credit and I mean really, you get four short stories in one glorious book. Seriously, where is the downside?

For the life of me I can't figure out why this book received so many rave reviews. The only redeeming quality I found of this book was the narrator. J.D. Hart. He has an amazing voice. It's his voice that got me through this book.

The heroine is a weak minded character. First she meet the hero, I say that would lightly, and her first thought is he is going to rape her. He rips her stocking, ties her up and questions her about why she is in the house. After realizing it is a cause of mistaken identity he lets her go. But after being almost assaulted she doesn't call the authorities, no she feels and instant attraction to her would be attacker, first eye roll. He laters shows up and apologizes for his behavior and she agrees to have lunch with him, second eye roll. From there, they get together and have sex and she believes he is the love of her life, third eye roll. From that point, it's a lot more eye rolling and stupid mistakes that the heroine makes that have me constantly rolling my eyes through the book.

The hero, or whatever you call him. Is he an alpha male, somewhat. He does have loyalty to those he considers family and goes out of his way to protect them and keep them safe but he is so confusing. First he wants the heroine and then he breaks up with her. Then he realizes he can't live without her and then he realizes that his career will not allow him to keep her. Then... this goes on and on throughout the entire book. Enough already, make a freaking discussion. Besides the narrator the only other redeeming quality is that he had an HEA.

*This might be a spoiler but I”m going to mention it anyway. Don't get all excited about the kidnapping that was mention in the synopsis. It is literally four chapters out of the 43 chapters of the book.
