Just not well executed. Bashes you over the head with "how things used to be" and lots of niggling little issues. For example, how come every professional in this book is assisted by " his wife"? Are there no more female dentists in the future? Not worth the energy to ignore the plot holes.
If you are a parent, you will thank this book for appreciating your efforts in a way your children never will.
Tough premise to pull off. And it manages to do it. But not a home run.
A delight. Beautiful prose, unfettered imagination, still manages to create convincing characters. Very long, which for me is a plus. Might not be for you.
Also, I am a psychologist and this may be pickety but schizophrenics adnothing like the way they are portrayed in this book. Still, an entertaining read.
