When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early 40s, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils.... Pagford is not what it at first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the town's council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I'm not sure who would enjoy this book; I expected so much more than what I got.

What was most disappointing about J. K. Rowling’s story?

The story line rambled on and on and on.. way to much over use of the F word-- Quiet ridiculous in fact.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration was fine.. but the story was never ending.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment.. a total waste of a credit.

    Any additional comments?

Don't waste your time on this one.

Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect! Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The book was just ok; humorus at times, but the same story could have been told a whole lot quicker with the same effect.

Would you be willing to try another book from Sophie Kinsella? Why or why not?

    I'm not sure.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

    Accent was too heavy.
