I love this series. I do not enjoy books that are basically bodice rippers with a vampire or wolf in place of the pirate or viscount. Jane Yellowrock's world has grit, humor and depth. This series has held my attention from book 1. Even if you don't normally read fantasy or paranormal books, if you like action and adventure with a little steam from time to time I bet you will like this series. Only one negative, the long wait for book 8 has just begun for me.
I gave up on this book right after Lisa demanded to go back and get her two daughters so they could share her uncertain fate. Really? What Mother would want her kids to join her in an alien abduction, especially when she knew the reason for the abduction. I Listened to the first half of the book and just couldn't finish it. I found it to be pure drivel. I know a lot of people seem to have enjoyed it but the whole plot seemed asinine to me.
This book has great action in more ways than one. Jane and Beast keep growing and evolving. This series never gets old to me and Khristine Hvan's narration just gets better and better. I loved it!
I most often read Historical Fiction and Urban Fantasy but this book sounded interesting so I took a chance. I really enjoyed it. It was fast paced and light. I would have liked a bit more world building but over all I found the story and characters engaging. I hope the next book will focus a bit more on the time travel missions now that the politics have been explained.
I read the first book in this series a while ago and enjoyed it. Hellbent is a good listen also.
It has a lot of action and humor. There was a hint of romance in the first book and I was hoping the author would give us a little more in this one. Alas, just more hints, but I still think the book is very credit worthy.
This book is so similar to the first book in the series that I feel the author should be ashamed. The bedroom dialog is almost identical. I did not even finish the book, there seemed no point. I know it got a lot of good reviews but if you are looking for an interesting story don't buy this book. The author seems to have a formula and she is sticking to it.
I can't give this book a fair review because the narrator just set my teeth on edge. I found his female characters especially awful. I just couldn't get into the story. It may just be me, but I suggest listening to the sample before you buy.
I love Patricia Briggs. I have to admit, I listen to her books over and over again. she manages to keep her characters and plots fresh and interesting. Night Broken is no exception, I really enjoyed it.
There was a lot to like about this book. I found the world interesting and original and even though this is a long book it didn't drag. I think the author could have spent a bit more time and effort explaining how and why Meg was so quickly and completely accepted by the others. also, while the narration was competent a stronger voice would have made it better for me.
This book was a disappointment for me. It got some good reviews so I took a chance. The author seems to have some talent but I found this tedious. A vampire who calls his reluctant lover Ma Petite, now why does that sound familiar? The thing that I just could not take was Lily's endless drivel about her two love interests. I get it, they are both gorgeous, they both kiss well and she can't make up her mind between them. This constant prattle takes up most of the book. I found the outlines of the characters interesting but they were never developed. When Lily does make up her mind, no real reason is given. No grit and no real humor. My advise, save your credit and wait for the next Faith Hunter or Molly Harper book.
