..and credits. The writer needs to find a plot before trying to make it a book. The story was dull, rambling and had no real ending. This was a part of a series? Unbelievable that anyone would spend the time or money to publish such rubbish.
novel. I'm pleased I listened. Story had me a bit confused at first, but after a bit things began to settle. Unique story line. Could have spent a bit more time with the characters - there was little there beyond the dialog. If you appreciate good character development, where you feel you know the people involved, you'll be disappointed for sure.
Not DK's best, but interesting none the less. As they say on these interwebs ..."meh..."
Best listen of the summer! Excellent story, well written, and superb narration. Keeps you wondering until the very end. Well worth the credits.
Please Audible, find more of these gems.
A seriously meaningless story. Don't waste your time on this. King is obviously trying to maximize income at the expense of his integrity - there is no other reasonable explanation for why he would soil his reputation with such claptrap.
A very BAD story, poorly written.
The writing was well done, if somewhat pathetic in the attempt to be hip and in the know, but I'm still trying to figure out what the point was. Very boring and extremely disappointing.
Well, some have said it better in their reviews, but this could have been a very good book. Again, another teen fantasy masquerading as a novel.
Others have covered the overall tone and style of this book, so I won't go there. I found this book tiresome about half-way through, and found too many glitches in the storyline to be too enthusiastic. The author goes to great lengths to explain to us about the main character's ability - then cheats his way to the end. Biggest glitch here is that the metal-cloth found thirty feet below ground was able to communicate to our hero-phychic through the trace-emotions left by its owner. He was able to see/feel the experiences of the original owner - except in this story all of those experiences hadn't happened to the owner at the time the piece of cloth was discarded! Whoops!
Don't bother with this one.
This entire set of three volumes could have easily been in one, not too long, volume. But, marketing wins in the end, I guess.
Well, to get right to it - the story here is mundane, obviously written for the mid-teen market, and not very interesting. The author attempts to wow us with technical facts constantly quipped by the characters, but comes off as stupid when in the context of one scientist speaking to another.
The ending of this story was so idiotic, I laughed out loud.
I am getting tired of these books. They sound interesting in the promo, but then I start listening, and find they are written for YA audiences, and in reality are just pulp-junk.
Please label books intended for 14 year old girls, so the rest of us can avoid!
I'm sitting here, having just finished listening to this red herring, and I'm wondering just what book all of these writers of the glorious reviews were reading. This is a totally ridiculous book from start to finish. The plot was so unrealistic as to be laughable. No reasonable explanation whatever in regards to why the protagonist was hunting down Bart- "Oh, I said the name Bartholomew in my sleep? Well I better hunt this person down because he is surely trying to kill me!" What an absolutely stupid premise - surely not worthy of the time it took to write.
The writer of this piece of flak is surely not the same that has authored the Odd Thomas stories, unless this was written in the sixth grade.
Save your money for something else.
This is the first book I've read/listened to by this author. Never again. I couldn't even get through the second hour. Absolutely no character interest at all. NONE.
It reads like a ten year old explaining what he did at school today.
Mr. Hogan should write installation instructions for assemble yourself furniture - he'd be good at it, because his plots and story lines are very similar.
One of the worst I've come across.
Then... to make it an even more eventful listen, they have hired a narrator who sounds like he's never had a conversation before... stilted, stumbles over dialog.... half the time he sounded like radio DJ not a story teller...
This is BAD...... don't waste your money..
Listening to this was like listening to a very badly read audio of a very bad 50's B sci fi movie. Pass on this one!
