Most personal and organizational problems are the result of a little-known phenomenon called "self-deception". We deceive ourselves into thinking we're doing the right thing for the right reason, but people won't follow a leader whose motives are selfish. The tricky thing is, we don't know that our motivation is flawed. This audiobook explains what self-deception is, how people get trapped in it, how it undermines relationships and organizational achievement, and - most importantly - the surprising way to solve it.

What made the experience of listening to Leadership & Self-Deception the most enjoyable?

This book is all about how we miss treating others in the ways we should. If we treated others right and they were able to reciprocate our world would be a very different place.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

I will work to make sure that I am aware of being in the box and try hard to get back out.

If you could sum up Just Listen in three words, what would they be?

If you struggle with influencing others this is the book for you.

Who was your favorite character and why?

This book is tactical. Mark gives you real stories about useful techniques and not fuzzy theories.

What about Walter Dixon’s performance did you like?

Walter is a good reader. He doesn't have distracting ticks and is pleasant to listen to. I will look for him in the future.
