The reader was fine - the books just weren't that good. I'm usually receptive to feminist issues, but they were overplayed and the books lacked enough else to support their weight.
The reader was fine. However, given the overplaying of feminist issues in the books overall, the choice of a femal narrator only exacerbated the problem.
Wish I had stuck with the author's prior books...
A better narrator might have made it doable. This is one of the first books I've had to stop because I just couldn't listen to the reader any more.
Every word was exaggerated - everything can't be super-dramatic.
Re-record with a different narrator.
Just overall, not very good - it's hard to point to anything objective. There just wasn't any point where it really had my interest.

Few books transcend their genre - the turns of phrase and dialogue make the book sparkle.
Great reader - it's hard to imagine these books with anyone else reading them.
Good characters, excellent plot pacing, and a truly outstanding performance by Bronson Pinchot.
Each character was distinct, and Pinchot obviously put real work into bringing them to life.
This trilogy is BEGGING to be made into a set of films. Marvel should come begging for the film rights!
Too dark - just couldn't stick with it. The Wool trilogy was intense and amazing, but I'd forgotten what a relief it was to get out of those silos...
Tad Williams has written better. Whether or not fair, in this genre his work unfortunately pales compared to Jim Butcher / The Dresden Files.

James Marsters is back - what a relief after Book 13!
Hard to believe, but the author keeps raising the bar - best one yet.
Good voicing for the story - he adds a harshness to Sandman Slim that suits the character.
Gritty anti-hero; good but not great.
Marsters is a good narrator, but his style as Dresden takes a while to get used to - it sounds rushed at first, but grows on you.
The series starts out more flip; gets more substantial and is worth investing in.
