SPOILERS: This was a decent story, I liked the idea, but the execution was off. They found the boy's family much too fast & then dragged out the obvious twist at the end. could have been an effective short story.
I've really tried to listen to this. I've started it 4 different time, and gave up each time. The narration is TERRIBLE. Having multiple readers is never a good idea, but the way they have done it in this book takes you out of the story every time they switch, and it's WAY TO OFTEN. I loved Cline's novel "14" LOVED IT, but this is sadly something else entirely.
I've listed to this book a dozen times, no exaggeration. The insight into King's mind is priceless. If you pay attention you catch him talking about things and people that were direct inspirations for people events, and places in his books. His personal stories are fascinating, and the actual writing advice is spot on. A must have.
Not what I would consider in King's "top tier" but a very good book all the same. The narrators were excellent, and the story was steady if not sensational. King's horror is toned down in this one, but that is not a bad thing.
I think a really horny 6th grader wrote this. I have never ready (didn't finish) such a poorly written book. I only gave it 1 star because 0 stars was not an option. Terrible.
...Are getting a bit far fetched. Understanding the blinking code is just silly. This is one of the weakest Reacher books. it took six chapters for painful detail and description to get to a single relevant but of information.
Dick Hill is still a great reader.
This is a much heavier read than Savages, or The Dawn Patrol but it is excellent. There is a sprawling cast and plenty going on. Add Ray Porter as the narrator and you have a 5 star review.
Stephen King's masterpiece finally gets a proper UNABRIDGED audiobook. This is a MUST HAVE for any King fan.
The premise of this story could have gone very wrong in the wrong hands, but King gives it the ...well... Stephen King treatment. The narration & the pacing were perfect & the story is one of Kings best.
I had listened to “Patient Zero” three times before downloading this one. As the book started and there was a Unicorn I began to worry. It was all for not. The second half of the book really ramps up and bypasses anything the first Ledger book had to offer. The twins make the story for me and the end kicked me in the gut. I downloaded the 3rd Ledger book today & hope it’s half as good.
