With a nickname like "Candi Heart" and a plan to open a frilly lingerie and perfume shop called Heart's Desire, Lark Hensley knows she may raise some eyebrows by moving to quiet little Angel Ridge, Tennessee. She hopes no one remembers that the women in her family were once accused of being seductive witches by townsfolk, and that decades ago her moonshiner grandpa committed a deadly crime. Lark has questions she can't answer and secrets she doesn't want to share.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I bought this on sale so I didn't pay much. Because of that I wasn't frustrated with the poor editing. There were many, many, times the audio repeated or the narrator said one thing and then self corrected. Some times it sounded like the narration was spliced together to quickly. The narrator has a great voice and did great with the characters. This review is not a reflection on her ability. I'm not sure if the company accidentally uploaded the unedited file or what but be prepared for numerous errors.

America's beloved country superstar Cody Tuggle never expected to be one of America's most wanted. At least that's how he feels since he's been accused of murdering his scheming agent. Desperate to prove he's innocent, he turns to his only alibi, award-winning photographer Kasey Phillips, who recently toured with him and his band. What did you love best about Pecan Pie and Deadly Lies?

I liked the book. Low stress.

    Any additional comments?

This is my favorite narrator. I would read more books from this series if they were audible.

Undercover agent Evangeline Quill knows the dangers of getting personally involved in her cases. But this one is unavoidable: Someone murdered her parents, and she’s sure she knows the killer. To hunt him down, she’ll need evidence…and someone to lead her straight into the murderer’s lair. Enter handsome and elusive Oliver McCrea. Evangeline is the first good thing that battle-weary McCrea has touched in five long years. And even though he knows he should evade her pursuit, he can’t bring himself to turn her away. She reminds him of the man he used to be - a man he’s not sure he can be again.

Where does An Affair of Vengeance rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This narration was the best I've listened to so far. The accents were amazing. After a few minutes of listening I forgot I was listening to just one person. When I switched to reading the book I really missed the delightful accents the narrator brought to the story.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot was great. I'm not much of a spy book reader so I'm not really qualified to address the book itself.

Have you listened to any of Hillary Huber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No
