Interesting character development and portrayal in this historical fiction piece. As in life, parts of this story get protracted and a little dull. As well, there are some wonderful parts!
The various developments in expanding the capabilities of the mind are so exciting it makes the reader feel the anticipation of a child awaiting holiday gifting! This is so very hopeful for the future of mankind.
This representation of Jesus, set in context of the time of his life, madee a valuable contribution to the literature and myth surrounding this great teacher. Having heard the writer in person soft peddle his remarks to his audience, I highly recommend the booik over an in-personn experience of the author and his topic.
While reviewing the shifting history of power in the world has a significant value, this was a pretty dry reading experience.
This author rolls out story after compelling story with just the right mix of action and theme/character development. This, hoever, is not a good book for those that want endless descriptionn of the scenes, etc.
Had stopped reading this author some years ago as the topics and style became repetitive. Now, however, with her compelling story telling through the voices of her characters, Picoult has chosen a topic which applies to adults more than to children, and it is refreshing and thought provoking.
While it was somewhat disappointing to learn the information provided about some of our nation's celebrities, at the same time it was very interesting to learn yet again how addictive "feeling good" is!
These essays are focused and biting - bringing to the reader the unvarnished and chilling truth about our corrupt government and it's functioning in the world.
Fun and frothy read with plenty of twists and turns to the story line. This is a perfect entertainment - no thinking necessary!
Wonderfully eye-opening into the life and times of Muslim women and the effects of that tightly controlled society on its members! This offered an, at times, shocking counter view to the liberal acceptance of differentness espoused by me in the past and so many other liberals. I had not fully grasped the potential negative effects of political/religious tolerance.
This gives us solid research to help point the way humanity can pull itself out of its current chaos and move forward into a positive healthy world.
