I'm new to Scyfi books, I like the paranormal but I wanted to branch out and really get into something with a great story line. Adventure, love and this book gave it all to me. I can say that I got very frustrated at times with the capture and escape so many times by the heroin's, but all in all it was so worth it. The Narrator was awesome, his many voices made the listening outstanding, I would listen to Tim G. Reynolds over and over again.
I have listened to these books for hours, and they have kept my interest every second, the characters were great and the bad guys get killed. But the ending was the worst, I kept waiting for Thasha to show up and instead Pazel ends up in the sea with the fish chick!! What the hell!! His friends don't remember him, only the rat!! Wow I can't believe how disappointed I am. The narration was great, Michael Page is terrific, I buy almost everything he narrates.
Not much different from Acheron the hours of beatings, sexual abuse and constant whining of no body loves me just had to be overlooked because the narration alone was worth it. I have been a fan of Kenyon for many years and am a loyal reader of the dark hunters. She can really write a book full of hate and betrayal.
Steven Pacey I could listen to you read for the rest of my life. The story was great, the narrating was even more so, Mr. Pacey made these books such a success. I have just started listening to epic scyfy books and everyone I have chosen has been great. So much more depth to these types of books and this one is top of my list. I hope to read and or listen to more from Joe.
This was a good story, I loved the ending. I like it when humans can show the strength and compasion to animals and each other in such adversity.
I had bought the Mirror in Her Dreams so many years ago I can't remember, and it sat in my book case and I never read it. Once the books came out in audible I listen to them and kicked myself for not reading it way back when. I am a big fan of Stephen R. Donaldson and am very glad that I listened to this story. Very imaginative, like my review in the first book I would have like to see the two main characters have more fight in them. But in the end they kicked butt.
I really wish they would hurry up and put Thomas Covenant first two adventures in Audible, I don't want to listen to the last three books until I can listen to them.
The story is good, I'm still interested in finishing the first book and then the second, but the constanct changing of the narrator for the same character makes the listening not so fun. If it had been read by Stefan Rudnicki throughout the entire books I would have been much happier, or Scott Brick but not both and definately not the others. All in all I will finish them because I actually like the story.
I have listened to every one of these in the series and loved everyone but this one. Since I am not a homosexual I'm sure that could be why. The black dagger brotherhood is about a league of superhuman vampires that kick demon butt, and find love along the way, no problem with that, but this book was nothing but two men having sex most of the time, or brooding about not being able to have sex with each other. I was glad when it was over, I hope that more books will come out so that I can listen to or read how the King kicks Scores butt and gets his kingdom on the right path. Plus we now have a new Vamp in the mix and he is falling for a human.
J.R. I'm not going to give up on this series, but I do hope you don't write another one like this one.
Kevin you gave an awesome performance narrating and the sound effects made this one of the best books I've listen to ever on audible. But I beg you not to see the movie because you will come out of it so disappointed, the movie butchered the book and did not give it justice at all. I'm just about finished with Beautiful Redemption and am trying to get my daughter and my grand girls to listen to this. Looking forward to more books from you both.
This is the best book I have ever listened to on audible, the story is good but the sound effects makes it even better. I would recommend this to all that loves to listen.
