With more than 10 million copies in print worldwide, New York Times best-selling author Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series is a global phenomenon. Lord John and the Private Matter, starring one of the most popular Outlander characters, captures all the adventure and magic of the series while delivering a fresh tale that is utterly captivating.

GoryDetails says: "Lively tale, well told"
    "It just couldn't engage me"
    Overall

It was a bit of a mystery but I'll bet mystery lovers wouldn't rate this one very high. It doesn't have the appeal of the Outlander Series. I won't finish the series.

  • I, Claudius

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 48 mins)

Here is one of the best historical novels ever written. Lame, stammering Claudius, once a major embarrassment to the imperial family and now emperor of Rome, writes an eyewitness account of the reign of the first four Caesars: the noble Augustus and his cunning wife, Livia; the reptilian Tiberius; the monstrous Caligula; and finally old Claudius himself. Filled with poisonings, betrayal, and shocking excesses, I Claudius is history that rivals the most exciting contemporary fiction.

    Chris says: "Unsurpassed, addictive brilliance"
    "Couldn't get through it"
    Overall

I was hoping for something like Phillipa Gregory's novels. I couldn't even finish it and I'm not sure of what I actually did manage to listen to. I couldn't keep the character's straight even to know who were the good guys and who were the bad. Very disappointed.
