This book had a lot of twists and turns in the ;ot I could never have foreseen. I also laughed even more while listening to this book than I have the previous two books. I look forward to discovering even more about Zoey
    s adventures.

The world of Faerie never disappeared: it merely went into hiding, continuing to exist parallel to our own. Secrecy is the key to Faerie’s survival—but no secret can be kept forever, and when the fae and mortal worlds collide, changelings are born. Half-human, half-fae, outsiders from birth, these second-class children of Faerie spend their lives fighting for the respect of their immortal relations.

I have to say I absolutely loved this story, and immediately got the 2nd, 34d, and then the 4th book. I have fallen in love with some of the characters, and I think there are some great world building in this book. the narrator is really good as well, because she sounds like she enjoys reading the books.

The first rule of a supernatural fight club? Don't kill your opponent. When the fighters come with lethal spells, werewolf strength, and half-demon powers, that can be a lot tougher than it sounds. It's hard to attract talent if they know they might not leave the ring alive. So when fighters at a California club start dying, it's bad for business. Witch detectives Paige Winterbourne and Savannah Levine take the case.

I was happy with the return of Laural Merlington as the narrator, since she read most of the series in the first place. This short story reminded me of why I started listening to the series in the first place. I was very happy with this story.

Now happily settled with the woman he’s pined after for years, Adam Sutherland is about to find out what their 10 year courtship was like for Ellie, through the journals she kept during their ups and many downs. Sometimes narators can make or break a story, and I have to say that although I was happy to know more about how Adam and Ellie got together, the narrator experience was not one I particularly enjoyed. Her voice sounded pretty flat to me.

Two young children disappear from their East Side home in New York City, their nanny killed in cold blood. As Lieutenant Eve Dallas begins to unravel the crime scene and search for Henry and Gala MacDermit, she's drawn into the twisted mind of a kidnapper who will stop at nothing to take revenge. Horrific threats concerning the brother and sister hit far too close to home for Eve, drawing her back into memories of her own tortured childhood.

I really liked this story. It totally gave me the shivers all the way through it. I have a twin sister, and I called her afterwards to tell her about the twins in this story. I think it was just the right length for the story. I am sometimes reluctant to get short stories because I am afraid the plot won't be resolved. However, that isn't the case with this story.

The Barrani would be happy to see her die. So Kaylin Neya is a bit surprised by her safe arrival in the West March. Especially when enemies new and old surround her and those she would call friends are equally dangerous... And then the real trouble starts. Kaylin's assignment is to be a "harmoniste" - one who helps tell the truth behind a Barrani Recitation. But in a land where words are more effective than weapons, Kaylin's duties are deadly.

    Story

the only major bummer about these books is that they come out once a year. I really wish there could be two books a year from Elantra.

Well, Kaylen has grown a lot since the first book, and she still has a long way to go. I think the one thing that astounds me is that given all the death and short lives around her, Kaylen hasn't just said to herself: look, I'm going to decide on who I love, admit it to myself and to him, and go for it because life's too short. But in thinking about that, it's probably not a Kaylen sort of move. I did miss the dragons, but loved getting to know more about the Barani.

Tatijana of the Dragonseekers spent centuries encased in ice with her sister, trapped in limbo between life and death, never speaking to a soul other than those who tormented her. Now, she has been freed from her frozen prison by an unknown descendent. Awakened in human form, Tatijana yearns to explore the modern world in which she now lives - a world with more mysteries than she is prepared for. Fenris Dalka has returned to the Carpathian Mountains after a long absence to be with his brother. He is scarred by centuries of battle, and every hard-won victory.

The one thing that drives me a little nuts about the series is the constant switching of narrators. this one definitely took me some time to get used to, although I do think he did his homework with the Carpathian pronunciations. It does help lead up to Skylar and Dimitri's story, so I would read this one first definitely. And I can't say I was bored at all during the hours I listened to it.

For Lieutenant Eve Dallas of the NYPSD, the job is a useful reminder of what she has to be grateful for this season. Hosting Roarke's big Irish family for the holiday may be challenging, but it’s a joyful improvement on her own dark childhood. Other couples aren’t as lucky as Eve and Roarke. The Reinholds, for example, are lying on the floor of their Downing Street apartment, stabbed and bludgeoned almost beyond recognition. Those who knew them are stunned - and even more heartbroken by the overwhelming evidence that they were murdered by their own son.

I was worried I wouldn't like the book, because you pretty much know who the suspect is from the very beginning of the book. And man, I could picture something like that happening. I think what I love most about these books, and it has been reconfirmed in my brain, is just seeing how the characters continue to grow throughout the books. I especially loved the very ending scene with the letter; it mademe cry good tears.

I stopped believing in monsters long ago. But I knew I wasn't imagining things when I found one in my kitchen baking muffins. I'd seen him before: lurking in my closet, scaring the crap out of my five-year-old self. Turns out that was a misunderstanding, and now Maurice needs a place to stay. How could I say no? After all, I've always been a magnet for the emotionally needy, and not just in my work as a wedding planner. Being able to sense the feelings of others can be a major pain.

Granted, Maurice was supposed to be hooked by it, but I could totally picture not being awake and grabbing the first thing you can to defend yourself. And so I began my thorough enjoyment of this first book in the Monster Haven series, where things that might look frightening aren't, and things that seem harmless can be.

Zoey Donovan - empath, wedding planner, go-to girl for monsters with personal problems - has been marked twice for pickup by Death. On both occasions, Riley the smoking-hot reaper has refused to follow through. For his breach of protocol, Riley is now on probation. For her refusal to die on schedule, Zoey's right to live is challenged. She will have to undergo a life-or-death trial, but she won't know when or where it will happen.... Staying alive might not be so difficult if the Leprechaun Mafia hadn't strolled into town.
