I like legal thrillers and enjoyed this one except if you are familiar with criminal law the main character will drive you crazy. So many times I thought, "This guy is supposed to be Ivy League? Seriously?" His legal reasoning and lack of knowledge of criminal law are astounding. The only excuse I could give the author is the desire to educate readers. There are better ways to accomplish that though.
I really enjoyed Molly Harper's last book but this one was too much of a romance for me.
I like Coben but this book needed some serious editing. Quite repetitive and some of the plot line was obvious.
I enjoyed about three-quarters of this book. Once again, I felt like the author didn't know how to end it and continued for too long. This writer is definitely improving. I look forward to even a better novel next time.
I loved the first half (or so) of this book. Great writing and character development. Delightful sense of humor. Interesting plot. Then it descended (literally and figuratively) into standard fair. Too bad because the book was very creative and I had hoped for more. The first half was a solid 4 to 5 stars. The second half a two. I split the difference in my ratings.
Daniel is a good writer but the book is too long. I figured out "who did it" long before he got to it in the book and then I couldn't listen to the drama anymore. With some serious editing, this book would be a definite winner.
