Enjoyed the book, but was put off by the Jamies terrible Scottish accent which sounded more Irish
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Well written and easy to listen to. A different perspective on the horrors of war and what average humans can become
This is only the second review I have written for audiobooks in my 5 years of membership. I highly recommend this story for anyone who wants insight into the psyche of Alzheimer disease. It made me laugh and cry. It is well written and very enjoyable to listen to. Even if you have no interest in dementia you can relate to the characters and their different ways dealing with the slow inevitable loss of someone loved. Alice's courage, sense of humor, intelligence and her everlasting emotional sense leave you wanting more.
I couldn't stop listening, luckily I was on vacation or i think I may have taken time off work to finish this masterpiece. How has it remained such a sleeper for so long? So different from other Follet books. The sequel is also worth a vacation! This book has history, mystery, romance and action. It s one I will listen to again and will be on my top five books
I couldn't stop listening. Normally I don't enjoy the descriptive, but the author made me feel like I was there. I could see and smell the story, I was viewing the story in my mind. A little bit repetetive at times but highly recommend and can't wait for the next book
