Annabel was about to take the veil to become a nun, when her mother suddenly arrived at the abbey to take her home...so that she can marry the Scottish laird who is betrothed to her runaway sister! She knows nothing about being a wife, nothing about how to run a household, and definitely nothing about the marriage bed. From the moment Ross MacKay sets eyes on Annabel, he is taken with his shy, sweet bride...and the fact that she's blessed with lush curves only makes him utter his own prayers of thanks. But when an enemy endangers her life, he'll move the Highlands themselves to save her.

Talia has always known that she isn't suited for the life her elders have chosen for her. As part of a small, conservative community, she's never been allowed beyond the boundaries of her father's lands. Her only window to the outside world has been the few books she's been allowed to read, but this only fuels her desire to know more.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Great introduction to a new series. Fans of Virgin River should like this. Can't wit for the next book.

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I really enjoy Therese Plummer and wouldn't hesitate to buy any book narrated by her.

Would you listen to The Newcomer again? Why?

Yes definitely.Lovely book and in time I would revisit it again.

What other book might you compare The Newcomer to and why?

I would compare the whole Thunder Point series to Susan Mallery's Fools Gold series.

What does Therese Plummer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I can't say I prefer her to reading the book but I love listening to any books she has narrated. She is brilliant.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Usually I only listen when I am painting or crafting. With this book I wanted to keep on listening.

Turtle Island’s Yummy Santa contest is underway, and master of ceremonies Roni Templeman is ready to rock around the Christmas tree. After years of hiding the pain of loss behind her carefree lifestyle, she’s shocked to find one broad-shouldered contestant is much more than just a hot body. But is she ready to finally let someone unwrap her guarded heart? Single dad (and gorgeous nerd) Lucas Alexander would do anything to help the charity that’s done so much to help him - even if that means stripping down and suiting up as a sexy Santa.

What disappointed you about Hot Buttered Yum?

To be honest I loved the idea of the book but haven't gotten beyond chapter two.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I will never again buy a book with an uncredited narrator. I have been caught out before and foolishly allowed myself to be distracted by the blurb for 'Hot Buttered Rum' and ignored the uncredited narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She was dreadful. No voice tone - no ability to add character to the story. Simply awful.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Hot Buttered Yum?

Can't say - couldn't listen to enough of it to make that decision.

    Any additional comments?

Not really only to say that commercially produced audiobooks should give all details - including narrator. If I don;t enjoy an author's books I don't red them - equally if I don't like a narrator, I will avoid listening to those books regardless of author.

Robyn Carr is a number-one New York Times best-selling author known for stories blending romance, warmth, and heartfelt charm. In The Hero, Devon McAllister takes her daughter and flees to the tiny, coastal town of Thunder Point, Oregon. There, she meets high school football coach Spencer Lawson, a widower focused on raising his young son. Neither of them are looking for love, but they may be the only ones who can heal their wounded hearts.

Where does The Hero rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I like the fact that the love hero is flawed like everyone but have to say that there was more than one hero in this book.

What did you like best about this story?

How even at the end people rose above themselves to save the day.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When the heroine said 'I'll do this only once'.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Love wins out.

    Any additional comments?

This whole series of books is excellent and the writing is enhanced by the wonderful narrator. If only all authors and publishers picked as well.

At least that’s what improper Southern belle Maggie Forsythe thinks after being unceremoniously dumped two weeks before getting hitched to a man even her mother approves of. Maggie has never given two figs what anyone thinks, so why is she hiding away from her South Carolina Low Country home? That is until concerned — albeit scheming — friends arrive with three options: One: Sit and mope. Two: Go home to her gallery.

What disappointed you about Flirting with Disaster?

I found the story frankly boring and the narration poor. I wish I had returned it when I had the chance.

What was most disappointing about Sherryl Woods’s story?

    Boring.

How could the performance have been better?

More emotion in the voice over.
