We've enjoyed the other Nancy Drew mysteries but this one was tedious and the narrator was abysmal.
I enjoyed the first book in the series and Katherine Kellgren is a fantastic narrator. I was looking forward to the second book in the series. What a disappointment. The narrator is terrible. I listen on my commute every day and usually enjoy my books but, with this one, my mind kept wandering to mundane matters and I had to rewind to see what I missed. This is one of the worst narrators I've heard. Bring back Kellgren for the last book PLEASE!
Wow. That was bad. Really bad. Insipid characters with no rational motivation for their behaviors. Cheesy southern accents. Just awful writing and narration.
Great listen. The narrator does a great job with the voices. The story is longer than it needs to be but intriguing. The names are a bit hard like I got Hekstrom and Egstrom confused a couple of times but not too bad. I recommend listening to Dragon Tattoo and this one back to back. I'm looking forward to the Girl Who Kicked a Hornets Nest. I hope the same narrator does that one. Sad that the author died young.
