This is one depressing listen! Although well performed, the story itself goes from one disaster to another, and just when there is some glimmer of things improving for "Potter" , the world collapses on him again. Not recommended for anyone on antidepressants who reads for escape.
As usual the two wildly different stories have no connection until the last half hour...kind of annoying but seems to be a formula of his. My favorite will always be the notebook, but at least this involved characters over 22...some.
Just because you can write a book does not mean you're a good narrator! The book itself is great - informative, fact, study and first person accounts all bolster its strong credibility. But if I had it to do again, I'd read it on Kindle, and not listen to the authors monotone, metronome style.
To me anyway. Good but very dark. I miss the sports agent and Win....especially Win.
Love Coben either way
Very fact based, event chronology. Must reading for scientists of all disciplines. I recommend highly! If we lose these creatures, we can't just "buy more"
Stunning as always, with unexpected twists and unforgettable characters. If you like Lehane, you won't be disappointed, and if he's new to you, you'll be taken where few writers go.
Heinlein would be proud... Is there a higher compliment ? Great space and personal story! I enjoyed every moment of terror and triumph.
I consider it weak....Myron has burned out in this book, and it shows, and I don't care for his "mellow" or more likely exhausted persona
The history of establishing the DER ( diamond engagement ring) .
The development and impact of the DER and marriage in general
The desperation of the EMT to get his partner a diamond when she really DID NOT WANT IT.
Brains, Brawn, and DANGER!
Micro, also Crichton....danger fun, and technology from a different angle
Brutality of life then and there...often hard to take.
Michael Crichton never disappoints....sorry his library is complete.
