Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Blackstock has her characters back from Intervention. Lance is such a good guy that you sure don't want bad things to happen to him, but he gets himself entangled with evil while trying to do good. Depending on God is evident in this story. It is dark and suspensful. Don't listen to it before bedtime or you'll be dreaming. . . Good read.

What did you love best about Her Royal Spyness?

I love Georgi's spunk! She was "bred" to be a royal pet, yet finds herself destitute during bad economic times (the 30s). She just attacks life! I like her loyalty to those in her family and getting to "know" those around her. She uses her wits to solve the mystery as well as figure a way to survive. I intend to keep listening to this series. It was read exceedingly well -- just jolly good fun!

Just like an ice cream sundae, which is yummy to taste but not very nutritious, this book is just fun. It's like a brain vacation! If you're looking for something deep and challenging, this is not the book for you! I enjoyed the characters and the story was good. I really like the narrator. I'm used to her in the Stephanie Plum novels. She's great! Again, if you're looking for dessert, get this book and have fun!

Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

I'm a huge Grisholm fan. That said, I downloaded this book as soon as it was available. I liked that you never really knew what was going to happen. That was fun. What I didn't like was the endless preaching about how BAD the government is. If I want a lecture on that, I can just watch the evening news! It was also hard to tell who the good guys were. It was an OK book, but not Grisholm's best by far. Just my opinion. . .

In the final book of the Restoration Series by best-selling author Terri Blackstock, the end of a global electrical blackout signals the beginning of the Branning family's ultimate test. Murder and affairs of the heart form the backdrop for a family sifting through the lessons they have learned and how well they have truly learned them.

I have enjoyed the previous books in this thought-provoking, yet enjoyable series. I really wondered how it would end and what would happen if the power came back on. Would the characters revert back to their pre-outage selves, or would they keep the hard-learned lessons they had learned? The author stayed true to her theme of learning to rely on God throughout the previous books, so I hoped she would continue. The ending does not disappoint. Good series!

First, I should say that I do enjoy Nicholas Spark's books. I'm a sucker for a love story, and his are great. "Safe Haven" gave me just what I wanted along those lines. You were rooting for the characters and felt invested in their lives (Spark's specialty). The thing that sets this book apart from the others was the surprise ending! I'm not going to tell, but I didn't see it coming. . .Enjoy!

I'm am so guilty of being over-dependent on time. I even sleep with my watch on! This book made me more aware of how futile it is and how I need to just enjoy each minute given to me. What would the world be like without the concept of time? Very interesting, thought-provoking and yet enjoyable book.

Mattie is gruff, street-smart, and wise beyond her years, left to care for her younger siblings and an alcoholic grandmother in a dilapidated apartment in South Boston. But her need for closure and her determination to make things right hit Spenser where he lives - they’re the very characteristics he abides by.

If you could sum up Robert B. Parker's Lullaby in three words, what would they be?

    True to form!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I enjoyed hearing about Spenser, Susan, Hawke, Pearl and all the rest. I always love the way Spenser keeps picking and picking until it all shakes out. The way he respected the young girl and stood up for her was endearing.

Have you listened to any of Joe Mantegna’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Joe Mantegna MAKES the Spenser books. He IS Spenser to me.

    Any additional comments?

The only detriment was the language. It was kind of embarassing to have that language coming out of my Ipod player. I sure couldn't listen to this book around anyone else. I hope the author will temper it (especially the F bomb) in the next books. The bad language did NOT add anything to the story.
