The Hobbit is one of the most widely read and best-loved books of the 20th century. Now Professor Corey Olsen takes listeners deep within the text to uncover its secrets and delights. Chapter by chapter, he reveals the stories within the story: the dark desires of dwarves and the sublime laughter of elves, the nature of evil and its hopelessness, the mystery of divine providence and human choice, and, most of all, the transformation within the life of Bilbo Baggins.

What did you love best about Exploring J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Hobbit'?

A very in-depth study of what is going on in the hobbit beyond the story. It reveals a lot about what Tolkien was thinking and his writing process.

What three words best describe Corey Olsen’s performance?

Read by the author. He does a surprisingly good job. A few times he messes up, but it does not detract from the message or his passion about the subject.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I liked to listen to this one in smaller chunks because it was easier to absorb the information. But it was exciting to come back to it.

    Any additional comments?

Really good for people who are interested in literature and the writing process.

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

Would you consider the audio edition of Bossypants to be better than the print version?

I'm very glad I didn't buy the print version, because the audio is EXCELLENT. Tina Fey delivers an amazingly funny performance.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bossypants?

I really enjoyed a lot of the stories from behind the scenes at SNL.

What about Tina Fey’s performance did you like?

She uses a lot of voices and characters for the people and events that she describes. It really adds a lot to the story.

Drawing on unprecedented interviews with former Wal-Mart executives and a wealth of staggering dataincluding facts such as this: Americans spend $36 million an hour at Wal-Mart stores, this text is an intimate look at a business that is dramatically reshaping the American economy.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

It was really factually interesting. The narrator was really monotonous and difficult to concentrate on.
I work with a company that sells products to Walmart... So I found some of the insights about how the Walmart works and their history to be quite fascinating... but it was just a little too dry for me.
