What are the most common dreams and why do we have them? What does a dream about death mean? What do dreams of swimming, failing, or flying symbolize? First published by Sigmund Freud in 1899, The Interpretation of Dreams considers why we dream and what it means in the larger picture of our psychological lives.

New research has revealed that myelin, once considered an inert form of insulation for brain cells, may be the holy grail of acquiring skill. Journalist Daniel Coyle spent years investigating talent hotbeds, interviewing world-class practitioners (top soccer players, violinists, fighter, pilots, artists, and bank robbers) and neuroscientists. In clear, accessible language, he presents a solid strategy for skill acquisition.

This is a simple, well structure treaty on the physiology and philosophy of the learning process which serves as a blueprint for teaching and coaching. This is in general, one of the tools parents (sometimes unknowingly) are looking for. It debunks the believe on born abilities and answers the question on: How we can help our children (or at least explain to them) how to achieve their best?

For the past 50 years, popular culture has led us to believe in the left brain vs. right brain theory of personality types. It would be an illuminating theory if it did not have one major drawback: It is simply not supported by science. In contrast, the Top Brain, Bottom Brain theory is based on solid research that has stayed within the confines of labs all over the world—until now.

Although human behavior is very complex and this study is far from exhaustive, definitely lays the foundation for further studies complexity and debunks the popular simplistic belief of "left side and right side". However, all studies in these terms may be incorporated into this new theory taking effective implications. E.g. in studies based on stimulation sides of the brain and the damage caused by accident or illness. It's like the evolution in mental terms of classical physics to modern physics (we definitely, will have to wait for quantum or relative physics). Highly recommended!!!

According to Freud, our unconscious impulses are not random, but packed with meaning, taking on color, form, and even a storyline. All dreams are actually wish fulfillments, and interpreting them can bridge the gap to the conscious, resulting in more meaningful living.

This stand-alone work is widely regarded as Asimov's best science fiction novel. Andrew Harlan is an Eternal, a member of the elite of the future. One of the few who live in Eternity, a location outside of place and time, Harlan's job is to create carefully controlled and enacted Reality Changes. These Changes are small, exactingly calculated shifts in the course of history, made for the benefit of humankind. Though each Change has been made for the greater good, there are also always costs....

Allen Carr’s Easyway is the most successful stop-smoking method of all time. It has helped millions of smokers from all over the world quit instantly, easily, painlessly, and permanently. Stop Smoking Now is the new, cutting-edge presentation of the method. Updated and set out in a clear, easy-listening format, this audiobook makes it simpler than ever before to get free. Allen Carr’s Easyway does not rely on willpower as it removes your desire to smoke. It eliminates the fears that keep you hooked and you won’t miss cigarettes. It works both for heavy and casual smokers and regardless of how long you’ve been smoking.

This is definitely the stop smoking reference guide, as it does a great job explaining the whys and hows of the addiction. As with many other habits, ignorance is the main cause. Even if you don't stop smoking your understanding will make you see the habit from a different perspective. I would highly recommend the live seminar too as it include a hypnosis session. But off course the cost is greater.

An incredible but true account of achieving one of the most awe-inspiring midlife physical transformations ever

In October 2006, the night before he was to turn forty, Rich experienced a chilling glimpse of his future. Nearly fifty pounds overweight and unable to climb the stairs without stopping, he saw where his sedentary lifestyle was taking him. Most of us look the other way when granted such a moment of clarity, but not Rich.

As I was aware by the title this is a entertaining story and for sure an example of the human spirit. It will not be so great for people looking to emulate the authors process as perhaps you will need to become an alcoholic before living out the drink for 10 years (yeah not a great idea!). As for the reference to the foods and drinks used, I found that the best is to buy the hard copy (which I haven't done) but took it out of the shelve and look decent enough and worth buying (if you are not poor as me).

It was a world gone wrong, one in which manufacturers thought little of manipulating product quality levels in order to save the smallest amounts, where savvy foreign business leaders were made to feel in control while they were taken for a ride by their partners, where entire manufacturing facilities sometimes vanished right into thin air... It will definitely give you a reason to think more locally and less oversea oriented.

The rise to global predominance of Western civilization is the single most important historical phenomenon of the past five hundred years. All over the world, an astonishing proportion of people now work for Western-style companies, study at Western-style universities, vote for Western-style governments, take Western medicines, wear Western clothes, and even work Western hours. Yet six hundred years ago the petty kingdoms of Western Europe seemed unlikely to achieve much more than perpetual internecine warfare. It was Ming China or Ottoman Turkey that had the look of world civilizations.
