Love Mrs. Pollifax stories, but this audio rendition is terrible. I wish the narrator (who was just fine) could have read the book himself without the programmers inserting a hollow, unnatural woman's voice as Mrs. Pollifax.
So sorry I forgot to check the narrator on this one. Wish I could get my credit back, I don't know if I can stand to listen to the whole book or not.
Should have listened to the sample longer. I don't like stories written in the present tense (so he says, "whatever") and the subject was not believable. Perhaps it got better after the first chapter, but couldn't get that far.
The only thing that made this novel worth listening to was the splendid narrator. She made the most trivial and boring details (of which this book mainly consists) fresh and interesting.
Would love to hear the rest of this series. I'm O.K. with the narrator - probably like RJ Sawyer better of the two.
