I loved this story. Although I usually try to take my audiobooks off of my IPOD after listening to them to save space, I just can't get rid of this one because I keep go back to listen to it over and over again. It has your betrayal, cover ups, romance, fights, but there is so much you just don't see coming. The ending was great and completely unpredictable. I loved the characters, the story and as always, another great narrating job by Victor Slezak.

What did you love best about Over the Edge?

This book brings forth so much emotions as you listen, like you can imagine how these people would feel if they were being held hostage or trying to rescue hostages. The story is so emotional and powerful. I laughed, I cried, I was enraged... it brought forth so many emotions, which a great book always does.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Over the Edge?

There are too many to pick, but the relationship between Gina and Max stick with you.

Which character – as performed by Laura Hicks – was your favorite?

    The flashback characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Gina's attack had me in tears. The entire scene was realistic and heart wrenching.

    Any additional comments?

This was an excellent book that not only tells the great love story of Terri and Stan, but also explores some of the other Troubleshooter characters. This more than makes up for the disappointment I felt in the last Troubleshooter book.

There are eight words Meg Moore has never been able to forget: The United States refuses to negotiate with terrorists. But what was merely a chilling warning when she worked as a translator in a European embassy now spells out a potential death sentence for her daughter and grandmother, who have been kidnapped by a lethal group called the Extremists. Meg has to act - and quickly.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Only if they are reading the whole series. The story alone is not worth it, but the sub plots lead into back stories for future books that make it worth listening to.

    Any additional comments?

This could have been a great book, but Meg is so unlikeable and unrealistic it is annoying. However, the side stories are great, so if you can grit your teeth and get through the urge to kill the lead characters for being stupid, it's worth listening to the sub-plots since they are important for future books in the series.

Fleur Savagar is the most beautiful woman in the world . . . to everyone but herself. With her oversized hands and paddle-boat feet, her streaky blond hair and funny green eyes, she lives a life filled with secrets that began before she was born. That was when her bewitching mother left home to find James Dean and met Errol Flynn instead. Now Fleur has to grow up quickly, and life won't make that easy.

Would you try another book from Susan Elizabeth Phillips and/or Julia Gibson?

I've bought several SEP books and love them for their wit and romance. Five hours of listening and I haven't encountered either. It's not necessarily bad, but it's not good either. It is NOTHING like the previous books in the so-called series (I have no idea why it's even listed as part of the series) and it's nothin like her Stars Series either.

What was most disappointing about Susan Elizabeth Phillips’s story?

There is NO humor like most of her books. Plus, the book randomly stops to play some 70's porn like music.

Did Julia Gibson do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    The narrator wasn't bad.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Cut out the first two hours of back story and add the humor we're use to seeing in SEP books.

    Any additional comments?

Don't waste the credit. I saw some bad reviews and thought it couldn't be that bad, but yes, it IS THAT bad. And I'm only half way through it. Hopefully it will improve.

Sunny Chandler always said she'd never go back to the tiny town where she grew up. It was just three years ago that she was at the center of a notorious scandal, and the good folks of Latham Green, Louisiana, made it clear they'd never let her forget it. So Sunny packed up and headed for New Orleans, and now she wouldn't give up city life for the world. But when she's invited to her best friend's wedding, Sunny has no choice but to go home.

What disappointed you about Sunny Chandler's Return?

I love Sandra Brown, but I was bored to tears with the predictable story.

What was most disappointing about Sandra Brown’s story?

The HUGE secret that disgraced Sunny was to predictable to be believed.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Beth McDonald?

Her accents were horrible, but I don't know that anyone could have saved this story.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment

    "Lover Unleased"
    Overall

I'm not sure why this book has gotten such harsh reviews. I will agree it was not my favorite BDB book, but it was no different than the rest of the series. The main character was Payne and her relationship with not only the man she loves, Dr. Manillo, whom she calls "Healer", but also her relationship with her brother V. Since the relationship with her twin effects V so much, of course, much of the story is going to involve him, Jane and Butch. The story digs deeper into V's past because it involves Payne and what she did to protect him, which is what caused her to become inprisoned by their mother.
This book did not get completely engolfed in Payne's sex life, which maybe the disappointment in some of the other reviews, but it was no less of a love story. Between Payne and Manuel, V and Jane and between brother and sister. We also find out that Butch has a half brother.
Like all other BDB books, Lover Unleased is but a stepping stone for the next novel. Since we are running out of brothers, there had to be something to connect us to the next step. Introduce new characters and new possiblities. I love the fact that old characters come back again and again. Like when Wrath and Beth had to battle with his blindness. I don't like that we get one book and then never hear from a couple again, so although we saw V go VERY dark in this book, he came out a little more shiney and I liked that we got to revisit his story along with his twin. So, if you are a TRUE BDB fan, you will love this just like the others for what it's meant to be. Part of the brotherhood's story and the continued saga of what's to come.

    Overall

God Bless Audible Sales!! I found J.R. Ward's work when "Covet" was on sale. I immediately fell in love with the fallen Angel, but I didn't think I would like any book about vampires, thinking they had to be just like every other vampire story on TV or the movie screen. However, when Lover Unbound came up on one of Audible's sales, I decided to buy it and check it out. Since it was at a lower price, I didn't have much to lose and I loved the Fallen Angel series so much, I wanted to see what else J.R. Ward could offer.
She did not disappoint me! Although V and Jane's story is the 5th of the brotherhood series, it seemed the perfect book to suck you in. It gives you just enough background to know what's going on with each character, but not enough to confuse you. The fact that Ward has vampires feed from their own kind and not from humans make this series more likable, so it's not creepy. The way each male vampire bonds with a female is so powerful and erotic. The way each character revolves around each other, so you know the story continues to build, not just around the two main characters but with future stories yet to come, is exciting. J.R. Ward is brillant!! Since's V and Jane's story did not dive into the lessers history, it was easy to start on this book and not get lost. However, I immediately used my next two credits on the first two books from the series once I finished Lover Unbound. And will continue to do so until I have heard them all. I have also gone back to read several of Ward's early book published under Jessica Byrd. I'm hooked and it all started with a Fallen Angel named Jim and a vampire named Vishous.

    Overall

Although this is not the typical novel that I nomally read, I decided to check out "Covet", the first novel during a sale. I tend to read more romance and suspense novels, but I'm a fan of the TV show SuperNatural, so the subject of the Fallen Angel, Jim, trying to save seven souls for good over evil interested me. I did not anticipate the graphic nature of the novels since it's not my normal read, but I was so caught up in the exitement of the characters and Jim's battle with trying to lead his "soul" on the right path while keeping them safe from demons, that the graphic nature did not bother me. Don't think that because the book is about Angels that it will be G rated and about God. If that is what you are expecting, you will get the shock of your life. Crave is the second chapter for Jim, trying to save the 2nd of his 7th soul. Both Covet and Crave are R rated, with graphic language, sexual content and violence. Which is why I loved the characters to much, because they are so real. Jim, the Fallen Angel, and his two buddies Add and Eddie, are Warriors sent from haven to fight for the souls of seven people that will decide the fate of the world. Free will let's them decide to choose good or evil, but only Jim has been given the power to persuade them on which path to take. He has the past to satify Hell, but the heart to satisfy Heaven. Both novels make you fall in love with this wicked Angel, that keeps showing bit by bit why he is the Chosen One. Eric Dove as the narrator is PERFECT and his voice gives just the right tone to each character so you feel every emotion. I can not wait for the next chapter of Jim's adventure. If you are daring... neither can you.

Lisa Kleypas is addictive. I found Ms. Kleypas's work when the first Wallflowers book was on sale and I have been hooked ever since. But as you go back through her work, all her characters seem connected in a history that will make since to readers that follow her work but you don't necessary have to read them all to enjoy each novel. Then Came You seems to be the beginning of the history and is a beautiful love story that appeals to all romance lovers. And the story only continues in each novel that Lisa Kleypas writes. The only thing that makes her work better is the narrator, that gives every character a unique voice that is so amazing, it's made it impossible for me to read a book if I know there is a production out there that she has performed. I have yet to be disappointed by the combination of Ms. Kleypas and Ms. Landor's work. I have however, had sleepless nights since I can't seem to shut my IPOD off! If you love historical romance, you will love anything written by Lisa Kleypas, but I would start with Then Came You and then Dreaming of You. You won't be disappointed!

I had already marked this as a book in my wish list, but when it came up on sale, I went ahead and purchased it. The wit and humor between the Wallflowers made the book enjoyable just to follow the women's friendship. The chemistry between Annabelle & Simon and their love/hate relationship was just an added bonus. The narrator is wonderful, but I've always enjoyed her and I think she does a wonderful job. This story was so fun and romantic and was not just about the love between a man and a woman, but the friendship that was developed between four women. As soon as I finished listening, I looked to see if the story continued and was pleased to see that the story of the remaining Wallflowers are available, and I immediately downloaded the second book. What a delightful series! I'm glad I stumbled upon this book or I would have missed out on a wonderful collection of laughter and love wrapped up in one book!
