I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)

This was a good story. I liked Elizabeth and Porter but Elizabeth did have some frustrating qualities at times. I actually read book #2 in the series first and I liked it enough that it prompted me to give this book a try.

Elizabeth (Lizzy) is a computer specialist at Red Stone Security. Lizzy has rather famous doctors as parents and her family has money and a good reputation. Her bother Benny is the black sheep of the family though due to some bad things happen to him as a kid which has made him a rather unstable adult. Lizzy's parents have written Benny off but Lizzy loves him and never will.

Porter works for Red Stone Security with part of his family (his father owns the company). Porter spent years in the military and is very skilled at what he does. Porter and Lizzy dated for about a month and Porter really liked her. Unfortunately he let his annoyance show at her dogged insistence to backing up Benny when his problems are getting worse and put her in danger. Lizzy broke up with him and Porter's been trying to move on with little luck.

Lizzy gets called by Benny to pick her up and ends up in the home of a very bad man. He tells her that Benny owes him 100k. She has 1 week to come up with it or she can work it off in his bed for 6 months (Ick!). Just when the bad guy is about to push things, Porter comes charging in and saves Lizzy and Benny and takes them to safety. The bad guy apparently has aims to get Lizzy for more than just 6 months and intends to use Benny to get to her because everyone knows Lizzy has no sense when it come to Benny and she'd do anything to save him. Lizzy isn't thrilled to be stuck with Porter helping her and tries to get him to go after the initial save but Porter isn't going anywhere and quickly makes things clear. Benny disappears and Lizzy and Porter are left trying to scramble to stay out of the grasp of a very determined bad guy. While they're trying to stay alive, the attraction between Porter and Lizzy is growing stronger and they have some back and forth moments as they keep coming together but then keep trying to tell themselves it's a bad idea. After a decent amount of drama and action, things do work out with a rather surprising ending and Lizzy and Porter get their HEA together.

This was a good story. Porter was a very good hero. A little bossy but not an alpha-hole and I liked him. Lizzy was alright but she did have an enabling blind spot about her brother that got annoying at times, especially when she used it as an excuse to push away others because they couldn't understand it. Fortunately, Lizzy didn't make any TSTL moves and that helped a lot. Overall I liked this story. It wasn't great and if I hadn't read book #2 in the series already I might not have tried more of the series. But since I have read book #2 and liked it better it's likely I'll try more in the series and see if I like them better as well. :D

Two shattered souls...backed into a corner and ready to fight for their lives, for each other, for their impossible love... Kassenia Bennett isn't your normal 25-year-old spoiled rich girl from Fairfield, Connecticut. Her life was ruined forever when her father killed her entire family in a tragic murder-suicide. Willing to do whatever it takes, she's determined to make a life for herself. Start her own business. Change the world.

This was an alright story. Kassenia wasn't the most likable character to start out with but she was ok for the most part. Declan was fine but we don't get much exposure to him really until the very end when everything gets explained.

Kassenia is just graduating from college with her Masters. Her parents and sister died in a tragedy a couple years ago and Kassenia has had trouble trusting people or letting new people in her life (except for her 1 BFF). Her relationships are non-existent as she tends to go out with guys just so they can get her off (and then throws them out as soon as they put any demands on her).

Declan is a business entrepreneur, an underground fighter, an ex Navy SEAL, and a member of a MC. He grew up rough and ended up in the Navy because it was his best bet to stay out of jail. He ended up as a fighter, MC member and entrepreneur later, juggling many distinct parts of his life to make things work. Problems come up when the MC has money issues and Declan decides to sign up for 4 fights to get money the MC needs.

Declan had won 3 of the 4 fights when the contract changes and he's expected to die at the end of fight #4 or the MC gets nothing. He's unhappy about this but Declan also doesn't feel he has much to live for and figures he'l give his life for his brothers (but doesn't tell them what's going on). Declan decides he wants to fall in love before he dies and puts an ad in Craigslist for a summer intern/partner in a start-up company which Kassenia sees and applies for. The ad is unlike anything else she's seen before but the offer could help with a start-up business idea she really wants to make happen. She replies to the ad hoping that it's a legit opportunity. When she meets Declan (he comes roaring up to their interview on his harley) he isn't at all what she's expecting and it just makes her more leery. However, when they start talking there's a definite connection between them and the business part sounds like a dream come true for her. Kassenia is a bit surprised by the line in the contract stating that she loses everything if she falls in love with Declan but considering she's never felt soft feeling for another guy before she doesn't worry about that part. Kassenia decides it's worth the risk to accept the internship with Declan and see what happens.

Kassenia gets to Vegas and is set up in a great apartment and Declan buys her a whole new wardrobe (after all she has to have adequate cloths for her new position, right?). There's a definite attraction between them and even though love is outlawed between them, it seems pretty apparent that they're both very interested in sleeping together. This doesn't happen right away but they do get to know each other better as they work on the start-up business. Kassenia gets to see the different sides of Declan's life and she feels the need to dig deeper and figure out what makes him tick. The summer is skimmed over pretty quickly (showing certain times between them but most of it is off page) and things start getting more serious between Declan and Kassenia (even though they're not supposed to). When time for the final fight come, Declan has decided he doesn't want to die after all but he doesn't see a way to get out of it. There is drama and some danger but they do get worked out and things get wrapped up nicely with Declan and Kassenia starting a HEA together.

This was a good story. For me, Kassenia came across badly in the first 10% of the story and it took some time for me to get to a point where I was interested in seeing her together with Declan. The story itself was interesting but there were some definite areas where I had to suspend disbelief or thought there were some plot holes (some of which were resolved in the explanation at the end but not all). Overall it was a decent story and if another book in the series is release I might give it a try.

    * note - The narrator did a good job but there were some editing mistakes. The editing issues weren't enough to ruin the book but they were definitely noticeable.

This was an alright story. To be honest, I didn't know if I'd like this book because Alana (the heroine) was a real witch in the previous book, Tempting the Playerbut actually, she wasn't really an issue, Chandler was. Things progressed past this quickly but I think it was enough to cause me issues with getting completely engaged in the story.

Alana is a publicist that does whatever is needed in order to fix her client's issues. She is a ball buster but gets the job done and her clients typically end up better off after her involvement in their lives (even if they don't necessarily like her methods). Alana had a flighty mother who couldn't hold a job and constantly had ideas of men she "loved" (aka was obsessed with). Lana was raised by her grandmother because of her mother's lack of responsibility. Due to her mother's issues, Alana has been very careful to keep emotions out of her relationships, thinking she'd be lost down the same trap as her mother if she allows herself to fall in love.

Chandler is the oldest of 3 brothers. Their parents died and Chandler took on the parent role for his brothers. He ended up starting a security firm and likes his work. He hasn't done relationships in the past but has never met a woman that made him want more. Chandler is a sexual dominant and tends to frequent a sex club when he's in the mood for an encounter.

Alana has been getting bad letters for around a year and they were a little worrisome but not overly much. When she moved to Washington things seemed to settle down so she thought she was alright but then another letter arrived. When the latest letter indicated that she could expect a visit, Alan decides it's time to bring in someone for security. Her first thought, Chandler, the older brother of an ex-client that owns a security firm. She was attracted to him but had tried to put that out of her head after the last time they saw each other. When she can't find him at his office or at home, Alana decides to track him down to the sex club he frequents and catches him on the verge of a sexual encounter with another woman. The things she doesn't realize is that Chandler has been having problems forgetting her as well and his encounter isn't going too well because of his lack of interest in his partner and major interest in Alana. Now I thought this was a good start, that Chandler can't stop thinking about her and can't get it up with other women....but then he opened his mouth.

Alana realizes she stepped over the boundaries with intruding on him in a sex club and this becomes more obvious when he demonstrates that his mind is on one thing and one thing only. When Alana tells Chandler about her stalker and her fears he tells her he wont protect her because he'd rather screw her. He didn't even look at the letters, he just automatically dismissed her issue like it was nothing. Who cares that she might not stay alive long enough to screw her....oh no! Chandler doesn't care, he just behaves like an ultimate slime! A little later, Chandler gets evidence that the threat is real and he feels a bit like crap because of the way he treated Alana but I don't remember him even apologizing for how he treated her. Then he spends a few days dabbling about with her case but leaving her still in danger and with basically no protection. When he finally gets a clue that he needs to do more, Chandler moves her into his house for safety. When Chandler gets Alana under his roof he starts pressing her sexually and also starts feeling a bit possessive and protective. Alana tries to hold herself back but starts falling for Chandler pretty quickly. Chandler starts realizing there's more to Alana than he saw at first and pursues her. She doesn't think he's serious and tries to hold back but he is determined not to let her and they end things with the stalker taken care of and starting a HEA together.

This was an alright story. TBH, the only thing that probably saved the book was the fact that I had to stop the book at around 20% and restart it later and it allowed my extreme feeling of Chandler as a slime to fade before I continued the story. Without that pause I don't know if I'd have been able to finish this story (I was that disgusted with Chandler's actions/attitude in the beginning). This series is a good example of why not to buy the whole series when it's on sale. If I hadn't bought all 3 of these books before-hand, I really doubt I would have made it past the first book in the series (and reading books #2&3 didn't really change that opinion). I know many people like these books but overall I just wasn't feeling it.

    * note - The narrator did a good job but it seemed too slow in places. I actually listened to the whole book at 1.25% speed and there were still some points where it felt like the narration was still slow.

Five men with power tools, what more can a girl want? Includes the following stories: Kate's Crew - Sultry summer heat has nothing on the five-man crew renovating the house next door. Morgan's Surprise - If Morgan thought spilling the beans on her lust for Joe would scare him off, she couldn't have been more wrong. Kayla's Gift - For some reason, caressing the man on her table is blurring her normally crystal-clear distinction between nudity and sexuality. Devon's Pair - James is sure he's doomed to lose the man of his dreams.

    Kate's Crew
    Time: 0 - 1:38

    3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good story. Kate and Mike are perfect for each other and their story was sexy and sweet.

Kate is a woman that's working to renovate the house her grandfather left her. Mike and his 4 friends all work together, buying homes and renovating them to sell and then they buy a new house and do it all over.

The blurb pretty much says it all as far as the basics of the story. There's a lot of sex and some romantic drama as Kate tries to figure out if she can have Mike and indulge in more as well. The story ends with Kate and Mike coming together for a sweet start to their HEA.

Overall, this was a good story although there's not much plot as it's high in sexual content and had with lots of dirty talk. Obviously, because of the length, there's not a lot of character background given but I liked the characters and the way things played out. It has a sweet ending to give you a smile to take away. I'd recommend this story. :)

    Morgan's Surprise
    Time: 1:38 - 3:44

    3-3.5 stars

This was a good story. I liked Morgan and Joe and their story was short but sweet with loads of sex.

Morgan is a friend of Kate (the heroine from Kate's Crew). She's just opening a bakery and needed some help with renovations. Kate referred her boyfriend Mike (the hero from Kate's Crew) and his crew for the work. They've been working on Morgan's place for a couple months now and Morgan is completely gone on Joe but doesn't think he'd be interested in her.

Joe is part of a construction crew that's very close. They do everything from contract jobs to renovating houses to resell. They're all very close and engage in menages with women at times as well as engage in a little m/m+ when the mood hits. Joe's hasn't been seriously involved but Morgan has caught his eye and he's looking to get serious with her.

The story takes place as Morgan's birthday is coming (the next day). Kate and Morgan are talking and Kate's trying to convince Morgan to admit her longings for Joe. Morgan does but is humiliated when she realizes that Joe overheard. Joe's a real straight talker though and makes it clear to her that he's happy about that. There's also some talk that lets Morgan in on the fact that in the past Kate had a menage with the crew. This is actually because Morgan is interested in that but thinks it makes her look bad. Morgan was engaged before and when her and her fiancee tried more outgoing sexual exploits it broke them up. This makes Morgan worry that Joe wouldn't feel the same about her is she did engage in a menage. To help Morgan realize he won't think badly of her if she did decide to indulge, Joe gets Kate to spill about her past experience.

Taking a leap of faith, Morgan gets up the nerve to ask Joe out and they make arrangements to go to the pumpkin festival together. What Morgan doesn't know is that Joe makes some arrangements of his own. They go out and Joe has a surprise set up for Morgan that gives them a special time together. They have a sweet (and very hot) night and this leads in to Morgan trusting Joe more. The next day is her birthday and the birthday celebration leads into Joe and Morgan engaging in a menage with the rest of the crew (minus Mike and Kate). The story is basically some convo and then sex, a bit more convo and more sex, sex, sex... Well you get my meaning. It's short so expect most of it to be sex but there is enough convo in there to get the feelings going between Morgan and Joe. The story ends with them starting a relationship together that's new but seems to be the start to their HEA.

This was an enjoyable story. I liked both Morgan and Joe and their story was good but don't expect much plot. Still I liked it and knew it would be heavy sex when I started it so I'm not complaining. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. :D

    Kayla's Gift
    Time: 3:44 - 5:51

    3-3.5 stars

This was a good story. I liked Kayla and Dave. Their story was good with some (unneeded IMO) drama that shook things up before the end.

Kayla is a naturist. She does massages but is opening a spa/resort that would be clothing optional once it's open. She has Dave and his crew helping with the construction and she massages them after work as a benefit of the work. She's drawn to Dave and has hot thoughts that she doesn't think she should act on.

Dave is a good guy and one of the members of a construction crew. The crew members are all very close and have engaged in sexual menages that included some women in the past. He's starting to get the feeling that Kayla is something special to him though but hasn't gotten up the nerve to ask her out.

It's winter and snow is coming. Kayla's resort is a bit out of town and with the storm coming, the crew decides to pack up and get home before the snow hits. Mike and Joe get off ok but Dave, James and Neil end up stuck at Kayla's resort due to truck issues and the incoming storm. It's the weekend so it looks like they'll be trapped there over the weekend. Kayla has just been waiting for everyone to leave so she can shed her cloths so when the guys have to stay she starts getting uncomfortable. Eventually she shares her secret and the guys let her know their ok with her being naked. There are some discussions about nakedness vs sexual desire and soon the 3 men and Kayla end up in a sexual haze for the night and in to the next day. Things take off between Kayla and Dave during this time and it seems hopeful they'll continue past the weekend. Unfortunately, there is some drama that almost messes everything up and Dave had a small bout of relationship dumbassedness in the way he handled things. Thankfully a little friendly intervention gets them back on track and Dave and Kayla come together to start on their HEA.

This was an enjoyable story. I liked Kayla and Dave but wished there was a little more time between just them in the buildup. As normal for this series the story is very heavy on the sexual content but with some romance thrown in as well. I'm looking forward to the next book to see how things work out for James and Neil. :)

    Devon's Pair
    Time: 5:51 - 8:36

    3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good story. Devon was a good heroine and James and Neil are good guys. I've liked them in previous book in the series and was interested to see how things would work out for them since Neil is bi and James is gay. I will warn readers that there is a m/f/m/f/m/m/f/m/f love scene...it's more a "swinger" type thing than cheating but may bother some.

Devon is a female construction worker and has had a hard time finding a crew to work with. Most of the male construction workers she's dealt with think she's there for sex and don't take her seriously. She gets referred to an apprenticeship with a new crew for 3 months and is hopeful about it since the guys in the crew sound alright.

James and Neil met in trade school and fell in love right off. They've been together ever since. They've been involved with the menages with the crew before and that's been enough for Neil's bi side so they've never had a problem and never thought to add on to their relationship. This all changes the moment Neil sees Devon.

When Devon comes to work the first day she meets Neil first. Unfortunately she doesn't get the best impression from him as his face is showing displeasure. She thinks it's because he wanted her to be a guy but actually it's because he just fell for her hard and figures his world just got completely messed up. James saves the day and Devon joins the crew and is made welcome. Neil is actually a bit standoffish because if he gets too close he might get way closer than is good. After a few weeks on the crew, Devon finds out that they've been being "good" and stopping their normal sexual exploits because of her. This leads to the realization that Neil is really in to her. There's a hot lunch break that brings Devon fully in to things so the crew sees Devon as another addition to their group. Soon there's a party where the crew and their women are all attending and things progress in to the m/m/f/m/f/m/f/m/f menage scene mentioned above.

With Neil no longer holding back on his feelings, the connection between him and Devon explodes and they come together. James allows it because he loves Neil. He feels an unusual connection to Devon but still thinks he needs to step aside. Devon doesn't want to get in the middle and cause problems between James and Neil and Neil wants them all together because he loves them both. There's a bit or drama as things get worked out but it's not OTT at all. The situation is helped by the fact that Devon admits to James that she'd been secretly crushing on him for a while. Things do work out and the story ends with James, Neil and Devon starting on their HEA as a threesome.

This was an enjoyable story. I liked all 3 of the MCs and was happy they got together. As with the previous books in the series, the majority of the book seems to be sex scenes but there is enough of the rest that I was able to get in to it. Overall I liked the series and would recommend it for people looking for well written, heavy sex short stories with HEAs. :D

This was a very good story. I liked both Asher and Ella and their story was interesting and worked well for it's short length.

Ella is a Jaguar shifter and an accountant. She decided to leave her pack when her sister got mated to her Ex without even telling her first. Ella had actually been feeling restless for a while and this seemed like the perfect time to make the leap. She decides to join her cousins's pack and gets a job and a hotel owned by the Alpha.

Asher is a wolf shifter that's been around a while. He lost a mate to rogue shifters a very long time ago and spent years in the military, learning the fighting skills necessary to protect his loved ones. Asher has the power of an Alpha but doesn't want his own pack. When Asher gets tired or roaming his cousin offers him a position as head of security for his new hotel.

Asher and Ella meet up at a bar as they're both heading towards their new pack. They don't know the association they will both have and that allows Ella to loosen up enough to spend the night with Asher. They're both wowed by the night and their connection but Ella runs and Asher is left wondering why. Neither of them expected to see each other again so they're surprised to run in to each other about a week later. Ella freaks because she didn't expect to see Asher. Asher wants Ella and wants to see more of her (actually making the final decision to take the job because of her). Because of their one nighter, Ella thinks that Asher just wants something casual and she doesn't so she tries to push him away but he's not having it. It takes some work on Asher's part but he does get past her defenses. Once that happens it's pretty easy for them to come together because they just feel right together. While all this is going on there are some other issues...the main one having to do with a possible threat to Ella. Things get handled though and Ella and Asher end the story starting a sweet HEA together.

This was a very enjoyable story. Asher and Ella are both likable characters and I was happy to see them get together. The action plot was small and just enough to drive the plot further but not overtake the main story, the romance. Overall I liked this story very much. I'd recommend this story. :D

This was a pretty good story. I liked Ed and Beth and their story was interesting with both hot and sweet elements thrown in. There is a bit of a love triangle things going on here but there's no sleeping around between anyone but the MCs.

Beth is a professor in Psychology at the same university as Ivan (the hero of book #1 in the series, The Theory of Attraction). She's made friends with Ivan, Cami, Lindsey and Ben (the 2 couples from the first 2 books) and since she's in to the BDSM scene they see each other at the local BDSM club frequently. Beth used to be a sub but felt the need to expand her horizons, feeling she was more of a switch. Her Dom at the time couldn't accept her needs and she broke up with him before he left for a 6 months sabbatical.

Ed is a rocket scientist (and I do mean literally). He works at the university and is friends with Ivan, Cami, Lindsey and Ben. Ed hasn't ever been involved in the BDSM lifestyle of his friends and doesn't know anything about it.

When Ed is invited over for a cookout at Ivan's, he meets Beth for the first time but doesn't make the best first impression. They do get past the initial bad impression but Beth isn't looking to take things any further, especially since Ed doesn't seem to be in the BDSM scene. Ed is attracted to Beth and wants to see her and makes sneaky plans to contact her later. This ends up happening sooner than expected when later that night, Ed realizes he lost his phone in Ivan's car. Through a GPS app Ed finds them at the BDSM club and ends up getting an eye full. Beth ends up offering to show him around but hadn't planned anything else. Beth's ex shows up though and he's unwilling to let her go and seems determined to push her back into the spot he'd had her in before she told him it was over.

To protect herself from her Ex, Beth asks Ed to play her sub and he agrees. Things go a bit further than they expected and both Beth and Ed are surprised to find that Ed actually likes BDSM. Ed does find an interest in the sub side but also has images of controlling Beth and soon wonders if they could be both to each other. Beth also realizes that they have a very good connection that's more fulfilling than what she had before with her ex. Beth and Ed start to explore their connection and find they're very sexually compatible but more than that, they're very compatible in a friendly way as well. Beth's ex isn't ready to give up though and uses an injury to get more time with Beth. TBH, I don't know why she gave him the time of day but Beth lets him get under her skin and consider taking him back. Beth is fighting her instinct to take her Ex back (I guess because they were together so long and he used to be so much of what she wanted) and he's pushing things hard. Ed wants to be with Beth but tries to give her the space she needs. There's some drama while everything's being worked out but it does end with Beth and Ed together and starting their HEA.

I enjoyed this story very much. I liked both Beth and Ed and liked them together. I was rooting for them from the start and my main complaint with this story was the fact that Beth actually almost let her Ex convince her to give him another chance because it was kind of stupid considering their background. Outside of that part I liked the story very much. I hope there will be more from this series. I'd recommend this story. :D

    * note - The narrator did an alright job but I wasn't very thrilled with Ed's voice.

This was a pretty good story. I liked Rubi and Wes and wanted to see them get together. The reality of them getting together was problematic at times though.

Rubi is a very talented computer programmer and the BFF of Lexi (the heroine from Reckless). She was raised by a rich father who didn't care at all about her and seems to enjoy making her life hell (but says it's "just business"). Rubi's mother had died when she was very young and Rubi suffered steady diet of neglect and abandonment from her father. It made her in to an adult that doesn't recognize love and doesn't know how to handle relationships. Lexi is the only person Rubi's ever felt she could rely on.

Wes is from Missouri and studied to be an engineer. The problem is that he couldn't deal with the boring life laid out before him and ended up escaping it to move to LA where he now does very well at stunt work (with some motocross racing in between). Wes has always dated "good girls" and done relationships (a hold back from his non-rebel days) but never found the right one that way.

Wes works for the Renegades stunt company, owned by his friend Jax (the hero from Reckless). When Lexi and Jax got together, Wes and Rubi found themselves thrown together a lot over the few months between the end of book #1 and the start of this book. Rubi is determined she's no good for relationships and so she only does one night stands. She likes the friendship that she and Wes have developed so she's held things strictly at a friends only level. Wes is very interested in Rubi and realizes that maybe he's been dating the wrong women all this time. Rubi is exciting and challenging and Wes is determined to figure out a way to get past her friends only barrier. Wes' brother, Wyatt, was in the service and injured his back/spine/legs. When the story begins Wyatt is just having surgery and Wes is trying to make a mechanical rig that will help him move his legs for the exercises needed for recovery. When Wes tells Rubi about the rig, she has some suggestions that help it out. Wes uses this as a way to spend more time with Rubi as she starts helping him more with some programming for the rig.

At the start of things, Rubi is dead set against anything between her and Wes and she's at least worried about it for most of the story. She just doesn't have any faith in her ability to make a lasting relationship and considering what kind of father she had I can understand her worries. The thing is that Rubi is kind of wild but she's also very sweet and smart and has a lot to give, if she can just find the right guy. Wes is determined to be that guy but he does have a detrimental flaw, he is so in to Rubi that even when he warned about her abandonment and relationship issues he doesn't trend as softly as he should have at times and tended to rush things when he knows he shouldn't. With their friendship for months I can understand Wes' not wanting to hold back any longer but most of the story takes place over about a week so obviously once things got going they escalated quickly. There are some additional issues to deal with, one being her father causing issues for her and Wes' family issues because of Wyatt's injury. Rubi and Wes do get past their conflicts (although don't expect it until the very end) and come together for a sweet HEA.

This story was pretty enjoyable. I really liked Rubi and felt for her. There were times I was a bit frustrated with her reluctance to start something with Wes but I could understand her reluctance and brief freakouts, especially when Wes started pushing things so quickly. Wes was a good guy and I liked him but I was a bit frustrated at that he couldn't see how his actions seemed from Rubi's PoV until after he'd already messed up (multiple times). Overall, this was a pretty good story and my main complaint would be that I'd have liked to see more good times between Wes and Rubi. They didn't settle things until the end and things were pretty much in a state of upheaval most of the rest of the story. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I'd recommend this story. :D

For Rafer Breaux, life in the Louisiana Bayou is harsh, violent-and deeply sensual. The Cajun werewolf lives for his Pack and he'll do whatever it takes to keep his brothers safe. The longer a wolf lives without a mate, the harder it becomes for that wolf to shift back. To remember that he is a man-and not a monster. And those mates can only be found during a blue moon. When a blue moon finally rises, Rafer will need every weapon in his sensual arsenal to tempt one special woman into his arms and the heart of the Pack.

This was a pretty good story. I liked Lark and Rafe. Their story wasn't perfect but there was something about it that I still liked very much. This is the first story I've read by this author and I liked it well enough that I'll probably try more of her work in the future.

Lark own a flower farm that's been in her family for generations. Her mother was a bit of a rolling stone so Lark was raised on the farm by her grandmother. Her grandmother died and left Lark the farm but by the time that happened the farm was submerged in debts. Lark hasn't been able to make enough money to cover the mortgage and believes she'll lose the farm in less than a week but is determined to work until the end and hope for a miracle.

Rafe is a werewolf and lives in the bayou with his brothers. Rafe is over 300 years old and hasn't found his mate yet and this is causing him to have issues holding on to his humanity and it's the same for his brothers as well. The vampires have been doing their best to wipe out the werewolves and hunt both the werewolves and their possible mates to kill.

Before the blue moon, Rafe is checking out the farmer's market, trying to get a sense of who the "Blue moon bride" will be. They don't know who she is until the moon shows her on the night of the blue moon but he smells Lark and is drawn to her. He hopes that she'll be the one the moon shows. Lark feels someone watching her but doesn't see Rafe. She does get some advice from the local voodoo woman about a choice Lark has coming her way. Lark has heard about Rafe and his brothers and has been curious about them but has only ever seen one from a distance. She's heard the rumors about them as well but isn't sure if she should believe them. Rafe goes to Lark's farm to buy some flowers (for Lark but she doesn't realize it) and talk to her. There's a very strong attraction between them and Rafe hopes she'll be the bride and that she'll chose him as her mate. Rafe does warn Lark that if she doesn't want to play, she shouldn't leave her house tonight. While the pack is desperate for a mate they wont push someone unwilling. The "bride" can chose any of the pack as her mate, or none or multiple mates, it's up to her.

Lark knows the legends and I'm not sure if she really believes they're true but when she hears the howls that night she feels compelled to leave her house and runs towards the wolves hunting her. When they do turn human she seems surprised that her tentative belief about what they are proved to true but accepts things pretty quickly. She's given a choice and she chooses Rafe as her mate but doesn't realize what that means. When she wakes the next day and wants to go back to her farm things get difficult for Rafe and his pack. Rafe does his best to stay near her and try to get her to accept him. She wants to but I think it's shear stubbornness that keeps her thinking she has to turn him away and work on the farm issue (even though there's nothing she can do about that). To be honest, Lark and Rafe had a communication issue because they both left things unsaid they should have talked about...one of those things being the vampires that Rafe and his pack know are headed their way to kill them all. Yes, the vamps do come and Rafe and his pack are forced to fight them. This does help things with Lark though because I think it helped her realize her priorities. They get through the attack alright and have a bit more drama about if Lark will accept Rafe and possibly the rest of the pack. Lark does accept Rafe and the pack (view spoiler) and her and Rafe start their HEA together.

This was an enjoyable story. I liked both Lark and Rafe...they weren't perfect and because of that they felt very believable. Their story was pretty good and there was just something about it I liked (maybe it was the style of writing) and I'm sure I'll probably read more of the series in the future. I'd recommend this story. :D

    * note - The narrator does a pretty good job. It's not the best Cajun accept I've heard but it still sounded good.

This was a very good story. I liked Bridget and Chad and their story was very good. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked this story since I wasn't majorly impressed with book #1 in the series.

Bridget works as an assistant to her friend, Maddy (the heroine from Tempting the Best Man), both of them working in the volunteer department of the Smithsonian. Bridget is a curvy woman and has worked hard to love her curves but her past boyfriends haven't always felt the same so she hasn't dated in around 2 years.

Chad is a pitcher for the Nationals baseball team. He's in the prime of his career and is highly talented. The problem is that Chad sleeps around and parties and it's gotten to the point where his antics are outshining the baseball itself. His team management is insisting something be done or they'll drop his contact. Chad could go to any number of other teams but he doesn't want to leave his home town or his 2 brothers he's very close to.

Bridget goes to an exclusive bar with a friend of hers. Soon after arriving, Bridget meets Chad when he comes over to buy her a drink. She knows who he is but not the way he thinks. He's famous so she lets him think she recognizes him that way but really it's through Maddy. Maddy is dating Chase, Chad's brother, and although she and Chad have never met before, Bridget has heard a lot from Maddy about Chase and his brothers. Since Chad seems interested in her, Maddy doesn't tell him who she is fearing he wouldn't want to flirt with her if he knew she was friends with Maddy (due to complications later). Chad has actually been having a problem finding woman that perk his interest and he hasn't been sleeping around nearly as much as the papers make it seem. When Chad meets Bridget, she's the first woman he's found intriguing in quite a while so he decides to pursue things. They talk for hours and get along really well. Later they go back to Chad's place and things start to get hot. Unfortunately, Bridget really doesn't believe that someone as hot and famous as Chad would really want her and she lets self doubt rule her and takes off leaving Chad rather confused.

Bridget and Chad don't see each other for a while until an unexpected encounter at lunch. Chad is still interested in Bridget and when he tries to talk to her they end up kissing, a kiss that's caught by a photographer and spread all over the newspaper. Chad's team hired a publicist (Ms. Gore) to do a "makeover" of Chad's image and when the photo comes out the team management isn't happy and she blows a gasket. With her professional reputation in danger and Chad's contract threatening to be cancelled, Ms Gore decides the best way to get out of things is to get Bridget to play Chad's girlfriend until things blow over. Since Bridget is a "normal woman" it'll look really good for the press and fans. Gore tries to get Bridget to play along but Bridget doesn't want to and ends up getting blackmailed in to it by Gore with a threat to her job and her reputation. This doesn't help things when Bridget and Chad start their "fake" relationship because Chad doesn't know why Bridget agreed to the deal and isn't sure he likes the possible reasons for it (thinking maybe she's in to the fame and all that goes with dating him). Bridget goes along with the deal but tries not to get too caught up in what's going on because she finds very quickly that she could fall for Chad very easily. Regardless of Chad's concerns about her reasons, he soon finds that Bridget is still very intriguing to him. They date for a month with some ups and downs and even though she didn't want to get involved, Bridget finds that she's going to miss Chad and doesn't want it to end. Chad is feeling some deeper feelings as well and doesn't want things to end either. Unfortunately, There is some final drama that causes issues between Chad and Bridget but thankfully, Ms Gore doesn't end up being a total beast and interferes enough to help them back on track so they end the story starting their HEA together.

I enjoyed this story very much. I liked Bridget very much and Chad was a little full of himself but overall was a pretty good hero. I will say that although Ms. Gore helped things in the end I'm not sure what I feel about her being the heroine in the next book considering her actions (but I'm still planning to read it). Overall, the story was very good and had some drama to keep things going but it wasn't OTT. I'd recommend this story. Thumbs up. :)

***warning, this review may get rather spoilerish so don't read it if you don't want possible spoilers***

This was a decent story but the sheer annoyance factor of the heroine, Mel, made me struggle to get through it. I actually found myself yelling at her about her stupidity while listening (I did this in audio) to the book. This is the first story I've read by this author and based off this I'm unlikely to try more of her work...at least unless I can be assured the heroine isn't the same type, the story itself was relatively good.

Mel is a chemist who just completed her PhD. She's gotten a position teaching that's starting soon, it being the culmination of a lot of hard work. She's been working so hard that she hasn't had a date in quite a while. Mel's BFF sets her up with a blind date for what's supposed to just be a one night stand.

Kade is an architect for the construction business he has with his family. He's also a werewolf and the oldest son of the pack alpha, making him the heir to the pack leadership. Kade thought he found his mate once but it ended up being a bad situation and she ended up with someone else.

So Kade and Mel are set up on a blind date that's also a hookup. They're in a restaurant in the ground floor of a hotel and have a room reserved for the night. Mel's freaked but does go in to meet Kade and they hit it off. Kade is surprised to find that his blind date is a possible mate. He's strongly attracted to her, much stronger than the last woman he thought might be his mate. Kade has always been a firm believer in giving his mate a choice in the matter so he decides he'll have to win Mel's heart and convince her to stay with him. Mel feels a strong attraction to Kade and they do end up in the room for the night. There's a halting start but they do have sex...a lot of sex. In the morning, Mel sees some things that freak her out and Kade ends up telling her what he is and what she is to him. Mel is too freaked to think so she gets his number and promises to call after thinking things out.

Here's where things get really dicey... As Mel's leaving the hotel, she meets another werewolf that tells her she's him possible mate as well and wants her to chose him over Kade. Mel has no interest in the new guy but doesn't want to admit she wants Kade so she doesn't tell the guy to bug off. For some reason Mel has the idea that she'll have to give up everything she's worked for to be with Kade and I'm not sure where she got that idea because I don't remember Kade telling her anything that would lead her to believe this. When it's found out that there is another possible mate, pack laws say they have to fight if she wont decide. Mel is disgusted by the thought of a fight and knows she doesn't want the other guy but yet she wont pick Kade so they don't have to fight. TBH, I just found Mel to be a real wuss. Yeah, she was being rushed in her decision making process, I get that. But through the whole story she was thinking to herself that she knew she didn't want anyone but Kade and how she missed him so much after one night. With all that crap I just couldn't help thinking that she didn't deserve Kade. Her actions were just so ludicrously stupid that I had a hard time believing that this woman had a PhD. The story does end with Mel and Kade working things out and starting their HEA.

I can't really say I enjoyed this story. There were parts I enjoyed but mostly it was ruined by my extreme annoyance with Mel. She was a wuss and there's not much I like about her except her turnaround at the end and even her actions there were a bit lackluster. Kade was a decent hero but he could have taken charge a bit more. I know he didn't want to force Mel in to anything but there's a big difference between force and standing back and letting her make all the decisions with little to no input from Kade. I have the second book already (I got it in a boxset) so I may try it one of these days if the reviews indicate the heroine is decent...

This was a very good story. I liked both Benny and Dimitri and was happy to see them get together. Their story was interesting and engaging.

Benny is the owner of a bakery that belonged to her family. She's lost all of her family except for her brother, Johnny, and she is determined to keep him. The only problem is that Johnny joined a gang and his behavior is going from bad to worse. The situation isn't helped by a greedy developer that's trying to strong arm them in to selling their bakery and Johnny is getting lured by the thought of easy money.

Dimitri is a Russian immigrant that came to America to find a new life, far away from the war that scarred him (both physically and emotionally). Dimitri runs a security business that provides trained bouncers for clubs and such. Dimitri does very well and has money but he lives in a small apartment above a bakery. He's been living there 6 years and normally would have moved out by now except that he's in love with the owner of the bakery, Benny.

Benny has been trying to keep the bakery running but when she inherited it from her grandmother it was far in debt and barely still open. She's been doing alright but it doesn't help that Johnny hasn't been helping around the place when he's supposed to be and precious money had to be spent on bail and lawyers for Johnny when his gang activities got him arrested. When the story begins, Benny is trying to get Johnny to help with the bakery but he's unwilling and basically being a jerk and disrespecting his sister. Dimitri comes upon this and gets on Johnny's case for disrespecting his sister and Johnny gets pissy and runs off. The problem comes when Benny realizes that Johnny's been stealing from the business and both her and Dimitri start to worry about just how bad Johnny is getting. Benny has loved Dimitri for years but never thought he'd see her as more than the friends they've been since he moved in so she's kept her silence. She's happy that Dimitri wants to help but doesn't want him to feel like she's asking too much. Dimitri realized about a year ago that he was in love with Benny and he'd do anything to help her.

Dimitri decides that the danger from Johnny's associations is too risky for Benny and he needs to protect her. Dimitri invites Benny up to his place for dinner so she can talk with him about the issues with the business and with Johnny. While they're talking, Benny imparts the fact that she hasn't dated in a couple years and Dimitri decides that has just changed. Things escalate between them and they have a hot night together. Dimitri quickly realizes that Benny isn't too sure of what he wants from her (which is forever) so he does his best to make her believe he wants her as much as she wants him. She's a little leery at first but Dimitri soon convinces her that she's it for him. Things go from 0 to 60 between them in about 2 seconds (metaphoricly speaking) as they fall in to the relationship that they'd both been wanting for a long time. This is helped along by the action plot because things are constantly hopping and Dimitri has to step up to take care of Benny. Benny mostly lets him do what he needs to do but she's not afraid to give him a piece of her mind when he goes and starts making decisions without her. I thought they worked well together once they finally took the leap. They manage to get past the issues with both the greedy developer and Johnny and end the story starting a very sweet HEA.

This was a very enjoyable story. I liked both Dimitri and Benny and had no major complaint about either of them. With the history between them, the relationship between Dimitri and Benny fell in to place relatively easily but the action plot was more than enough to keep things interesting. I'm sure I'll read more of this series in the future. I'd recommend this story.
