If the world as we know it ended tomorrow, would you survive? When the United States suffers a major socioeconomic collapse, a power vacuum sweeps the globe. A newly radicalized Islamic government rises to power in Indonesia, invading the Philippines, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, and finally Northern Australia. No longer protected by American military interests, Australia must repel this invasion alone.

Would you try another book from James Wesley Rawles and/or Eric G. Dove?

Loved Patriots and Survivors and was looking forward to thoroughly enjoying this based on the reviews since I did not read Founders based on negative reviews.

What could James Wesley Rawles have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The characters were all over the place and I was not drawn into the story and characters as I was with Patriots and Survivors.

I did enjoy the storyline on the trip to Australia on the boat.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

    Narrator was adequate.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Expatriates?

The book was already short and I have too many scenes to list that it would have turned into a shorter story.

    Any additional comments?

JWR...you rocked me with the USA storyline and characters in Patriots and Survivors. I would choose another part of the country...South? with a new story and weave it into the provisional government war on people who believe in the Constitution with no characters relating to the books listed above other than political figures.

What disappointed you about Black Flagged?

Was unable to engage with the characters and it stopped unexpectantly

What was most disappointing about Steven Konkoly’s story?

If I had listened to this before Jakarta Pandemic it would have been slightly better. Hard to believe they come from the same author.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment...hoped it would improve as I delved deeper into the book.

    Any additional comments?

Steven needs to read some other authors who do Black Flagged type stories to see all the areas he falls short compared to them.

Would you try another book from A. American and/or Duke Fontaine?

    yes, preceding books were fantastic

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    ho hum

What does Duke Fontaine bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like to listen and Duke is very good.

Was Resurrecting Home worth the listening time?

    For 10 dollars yes...

    Any additional comments?

After reading the preceding books I waited until it was released at the end of last year and moved it to the front of the line. This topic was harder to put a great storyline together. If I had read all the books in order and right after each other it would have been slightly better because I was totally engaged with the charactors.

What made the experience of listening to Act of War the most enjoyable?

Scott Harvath is a better than average character but no Mitch Rapp. However, the last 4 or 5 books of Brad's have been a lot better than the early books which were good reads.

What other book might you compare Act of War to and why?

    Vince Flynn...

What does Armand Schultz bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Keeps me involved...if I read the book it would take longer because reading puts me to sleep.

    Any additional comments?

Looking forward to the next book.

What made the experience of listening to Path of the Assassin the most enjoyable?

Brad Thor is consistent in his writing...very good but not great stories

What was one of the most memorable moments of Path of the Assassin?

    N/A

    Which scene was your favorite?

    N/A

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    N/A

    Any additional comments?

As much as I enjoy Brad Thor's books I strongly suggest that readers download Brad's series before enjoying Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series. As most of you know Vince died last year from cancer so there will be no additions to his library.
The reason I suggest Thor's first is that as good a character as Scott Harvath is he is no comparison to Mitch Rapp in abilities. Rapp would kick Harvath's $ss with little effort!
Either way both series are winners!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, well written very long story but as with most books I would not listen to it again.

What other book might you compare The Stand to and why?

This apocalyptic novel is way down on the list for me when compared to "One Second After" or the John Wesley Wrawles series.

What about Grover Gardner’s performance did you like?

    Fine, consistent performance

What disappointed you about Swan Song?

I liked the overall idea but ended up giving up after struggling to get to chapter 38 or so. I did not read the book but after a half dozen sudden changes in the audio story which were not relevant to the previous sentence I became frustrated and gave up.

What could Robert McCammon have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I assume checking the audio against the print version for continuity.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

    Good job
