  • White Cat: The Curse Workers, Book One

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 41 mins)
    • By Holly Black
    • Narrated By Jesse Eisenberg
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Cassel comes from a family of curse workers people who have the power to change your emotions, your memories, your luck, by the slightest touch of their hands. And since curse work is illegal, they'e all criminals. Many become mobsters and con artists. But not Cassel. He hasn't got magic, so he's an outsider, the straight kid in a crooked family. You just have to ignore one small detail - he killed his best friend, Lila, three years ago

Dave says: "Holly Black's Next Great Trick"
"Yes, this is what I'm looking for."
Have you listened to any of Jesse Eisenberg’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't but I look forward to them.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

If you going to pretent your a worker your going to pretent your the most powerful etc. I don't remember it word for word.

    Any additional comments?

This is great I've been looking for my next series and this is it. Hit the spot. It's quick but addicting.

  • An Interview with Rick Riordan

    • ORIGINAL (17 mins)
    • By Rick Riordan
    • Narrated By Diana Dapito

Rick Riordan is the best-selling author of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and the Kane Chronicles. His latest book, The Lost Hero, is the first in a new series – The Heroes of Olympus. He recently chatted with Audible Editor Diana Dapito about his new book and his career as an author, and revealed which of his characters are his favorites.

    Terry says: "Rick Riordan Speaks"
    "Get to know your author."
What was one of the most memorable moments of An Interview with Rick Riordan?

It's great to get to know your author, you should any time you can.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. It's pretty run of the mill. I liked hearing how he really thinks like a teacher instead of an author.

  • The Lucky One

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 23 mins)
    • By Nicholas Sparks
    • Narrated By John Bedford Lloyd
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Is there really such thing as a lucky charm? The hero of Nicholas Sparks's new novel believes he's found one in the form of a photograph of a smiling woman he's never met, but who he comes to believe holds the key to his destiny. The chain of events that leads to him possessing the photograph and finding the woman pictured in it is the stuff of love stories only a master such as Sparks can write.

    Amber says: "Very enjoyable!!!!"
    "Classic Sparks"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If they were looking for a good beach book, yes.

What other book might you compare The Lucky One to and why?

    All other Sparks books.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene in the rain with the running at the end. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get there.

  • Fifty Shades of Grey: Book One of the Fifty Shades Trilogy

    • UNABRIDGED (19 hrs and 47 mins)
    • By E. L. James
    • Narrated By Becca Battoe
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shopper24 says: "Laughed so hard, I nearly coughed up a lung!!"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    Girls without brains.

What didn’t you like about Becca Battoe’s performance?

Her male voice is way too fake. And her main character voice whines too much.

What character would you cut from Fifty Shades of Grey?

Anna Steel and the Grey dude.

    Any additional comments?

Seriously, who is going to clean up this puke?
