One late fall Sunday in southern Minnesota, a farmer brings a load of soybeans to a local grain elevator - and a young man hits him on the head with a steel bar, drops him into the grain bin, waits until he's sure he's dead, and then calls the sheriff to report the "accident." Suspicious, the sheriff calls in Virgil Flowers, who quickly breaks the kid down...and the next day the boy's found hanging in his cell. Remorse? Virgil isn't so sure....

This was very well written and a good audio production, it's just a very difficult topic to hear about ~ religious cult with child sexual abuse. I guess that Sandford did as good a job as possible dealing with the topic but the topic made me sick to my stomach. That is why I won't... can't recommend this book.

The thought of anyone, even a good fiction writer like Sandford, making money off such an awful topic is very disturbing. I suggest that folks enjoy some of Sandford's other works and not (read) listen to this one.

A former TV writer, Marshall Karp is the author of three previous Lomax and Biggs mysteries, including the uproarious series debut, The Rabbit Factory. In Cut, Paste, Kill, Lomax and Biggs investigate a disturbing series of murders—with the only clues being scrapbooks left at the scene of each crime.

When terrorism goes viral, one man goes ballistic. They can strike anytime, anywhere. A public landmark. A suburban shopping mall. And now, the human body itself. Three Middle Eastern terrorists have been injected with a biological weapon, human time bombs unleashed on American soil. They are prepared to die. To spread their disease. To annihilate millions. If America hopes to fight this enemy from within, it needs a new kind of weapon. Meet Special Agent Jericho Quinn.

There's an old commercial that said, "It's not nice to fool mother nature". I want to modify it to say, "It's not nice to tick off the customers" and direct it to the author and publisher.

The ending is the pits. Totally unacceptable. And, because the publisher (probably) decided that the book should be ended that way, here's my response.

    . . . . I will not buy any more books by this author or publisher. . . .

In Exit Plan, Mitchell’s crew is ordered to the Iranian coast for a mission to retrieve intelligence on Iran’s nuclear weapons. But while en route, their mini-sub catches fire, forcing Mitchell and four SEALs to swim to shore - and into enemy territory.

What a wild ride and a fantastic book for the eve of Veterans Day. With the story line, you keep saying this could happen -- now. And with the action, you run out of finger nails to chew.

It is also a prefect story to remind everyone just how much we owe to our veterans. Blessings and peace to each and every one who has SERVED. Thank you.

A torso in a suitcase looks like an impossible case, but Sean Duffy isn’t easily deterred, especially when his floundering love life leaves him in need of a distraction. So with detective constables McCrabban and McBride, he goes to work identifying the victim. The torso turns out to be all that’s left of an American tourist who once served in the U.S. military. What was he doing in Northern Ireland in the midst of the 1982 Troubles?

Excellent story, with wonderful characters and witty dialogue.

However, if I was the editor, I would cut back on all the references to music (a little bit is good but this is too much) and I would change the very end slightly.

See what you think. It is well worth the price of admission. I'm going to buy more.

Thought that the book needed to be edited tighter than it was edited. Kind of kept pounding the same nail over and over in several spots. Hit it once or maybe twice to really make a point but then you gotta just move on otherwise it starts to drag on too much.

Eisler is a pretty good narrator also. Not a top-notch professional but ever so much better than some authors that try to read their own work.

This probably would have been good porn, oops, I think it's called a "bodice ripper", but there was a fair detective story interrupting all of the hot-n-bothered writing.

Really, this book belongs in the "adults only" category with an XXX rating.

Yeah, you're right, I won't be reading any more of the trash written by Toby Neal. And shame on the publisher, Audible, and Amazon for not giving this book a proper description.

If Ridley Jones had slept 10 minutes later or had taken the subway instead of waiting for a cab, she would still be living the beautiful lie she used to call her life. She would still be the privileged daughter of a doting father and a loving mother. Her life would still be perfect, with only the tiny cracks of an angry junkie for a brother and a charming drunk with shady underworld connections for an uncle to mar the otherwise flawless whole.

    Story

The author doesn't know if the main character is supposed to be a dumb twit that needs to be saved or is a smart competent woman that can save herself and others.

Example, at one point Ridley asks, "Is there something like a reverse phone directory?", then later in the book she uses her computer to go to her Lexis-Nexis account to skip trace someone. D'oh. If you've got the intelligence and acumen to have a L-N account you certainly are going to know that there is a reverse phone directory.

Seems like the author tries very hard to make a damsel-in-distress just so she can have a perfectly buff, gorgeous guy save her while she turns around and saves him. Hum. Why does that story line sound familiar?
