Unfortunately for me I kept expecting the same gripping suspense and detail as the Stieg Larsson novels...guess not all Nordic writers are that good.
I listened to the whole book expecting something to happen and really get me interested, to no avail.
The performance was the only part of this edition that was funny at times, ergo the 3 stars on that account. Wish the content had been...
Don't bother with this one.
I enjoyed the story up to the time when they make silly statements that are false altogether. A helicopter will autorotate safely to the ground (provided the pilot is competent and there are no other issues other than the engine quitting-regardless of why it quit) easier from a higher altitude than a lower one. Glide to drop ratio is about 1:3 (1 forward and 3 down), you have to keep rotor RPM up and for your best chance higher is better (gives you more time to make radio calls and select a suitable area for your landing site). Otherwise great story.
I love the Oregon Files series and this was no exception, but PLEASE bring back Scott Brick.Nothing against Mr Culp but Juan Cabrillo's voice he is not.
Fun story and enjoyable, as usual. Waiting for the next book (and please have Mr Brick do the reading).
I was looking forward to this book but it turned into a drag....kept waiting for the fun exciting part and it never came. And the narrator just made it worse... I was looking forward to the movie but after listening to this I am skipping the movie version.
I enjoyed the story very much. Lou Diamond Phillips makes it even better. Excellent performance! John Clark rocks!
I think there were a couple of loose threads here but maybe it was intentional, waiting for the next chapter.....
