Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Although the content was compelling, with all due respect to the author, his narration made it a hard listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    N/A

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Dr. David R. Hawkins?

The woman who prefaced all the chapters in the book was way better than the narrator.

Was Power vs. Force worth the listening time?

    No

    Any additional comments?

The narration was so bad I bought a digital copy of the book and will be reading it on my kindle instead.

The reader is terrific and the content relevant.

What did you like best about this story?

The research basis of the book gave me a very objective point of view of how to deal with my willpower challenges. Sleep, exercise, stress, sugar, the company you keep etc. all play into your daily choices and habits. It's important to pay attention, stay in the moment and focus on what is truly important to you.

What about Walter Dixon’s performance did you like?

    Great voice, pace.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me give up chocolate easily and now cutting back on time wasting activities like the internet.

Researcher and thought leader Dr. Brené Brown offers a powerful new vision that encourages us to dare greatly: to embrace vulnerability and imperfection, to live wholeheartedly, and to courageously engage in our lives. In Daring Greatly, Dr. Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability. Based on 12 years of research, her book argues that vulnerability is not weakness but rather our clearest path to courage, engagement, and meaningful connection.

I really enjoy Brene Brown's research but this book would have been enjoyable if not for the reader. She's a painful listen.

The Adventures of Pinocchio is a novel for children by Italian author Carlo Collodi. The first half was published in serial form between 1881 and 1883; it was then completed as a book for children in February 1883. It is about the mischievous adventures of Pinocchio, an animated marionette, and his poor father, a woodcarver named Geppetto. It is considered a classic of children’s literature and has spawned many derivative works of art, such as Disney’s classic 1940 animated movie of the same name.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

    CynNC says: "Captivating"

    Overall

Such an incredible piece of literature! The author is a master storyteller who weaves the lives of all his characters so intricately that you can't help but care for them. I ended up buying the book too and when I could not listen to the audio version, I read the book. It's that good! The only thing was that I was disturbed by a lot of the violence especially the numerous raping of women. I skipped those parts. Between listening to the 40 hour audio book and reading the 973 page book I was completely engaged in the story. Ken Follett is BRILLIANT! I recommend it highly!

Boldly original and fully documented, this unauthorized yet definitive biography tells the almost incredible story of Joseph P. Kennedy, grandson of a poor Irish immigrant, controversial founder of a great American fortune, and father of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy.

Boston Harbor says: "Read the book, don't listen to it."

Apart from the narration, which leaned toward the upside of boring,
this book was incredible. It's well written, thouroughly organized, understandable, and solidly informative. I highly, highly recommend it. It'll be worth your time-- and may be worth paying full price. It's that good!

To a degree both engrossing and alarming, the story of fast food is the story of postwar America. Fast Food Nation is a groundbreaking work of investigation and cultural history that may change the way America thinks about the way it eats.

What an incredibly well researched book. I have recommended this book to everyone just because EVERYONE should read/listen to it. We all need to know that we can make a choice NOT to support the fast food giants whose business practices contribute little or no benefit to our lives.
