I am a 57 year old book addict. I started out reading Daniel Steele and Sidney Shelton novels 30 years ago. Since then I have added literally hundreds of authors. I take the time to write reviews on books that sweep me away. So if I have really loved that particular book. There have been a couple over the years I reviewed because I truly hated them too.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I don't know if I would recommend this book to a friend.
I enjoyed killing a cold winter day with this book.
The story has humor, mystery, and love. I wasn't thrilled with
the reader. She didn't seem to breath.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Winning the Highlander's Heart?

The scene in the cottage with the villians so close.

Would you be willing to try another one of Maxine Lennon’s performances?

Maybe. I wouldn't search her out though.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No. Last movie I went to see was Fatal Attraction
    when it first came out.

Mickey Haller has fallen on tough times. He expands his business into foreclosure defense, only to see one of his clients accused of killing the banker she blames for trying to take away her home. Mickey puts his team into high gear to exonerate Lisa Trammel, even though the evidence and his own suspicions tell him his client is guilty. Soon after he learns that the victim had black market dealings of his own, Haller is assaulted, too - and he's certain he's on the right trail. Despite the danger and uncertainty, Haller mounts the best defense of his career in a trial where the last surprise comes after the verdict is in.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bullets because she's still young and believes that the judicial system is righteous.

Which character – as performed by Peter Giles – was your favorite?

I like the way Giles reads Carlos' s character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending revelation didn't "move" me, but it was the part of the book that made it worth reading.

    Any additional comments?

The Mickey Holler books all seem to end leaving me aggravated with the author. That being said, I still buy the next installment. I like Michael Connelly' s writing.

The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. This story flowed well. Without giving spoilers I can't explain better.

What does MacLeod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He read this One with feeling.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Four years ago, LAPD detective Harry Bosch was on a movie set, asking questions about the murder of a young production assistant, when an armored car arrived with $2 million cash for use in a heist scene. In a life-imitates-art firestorm, a gang of masked men converged on the delivery and robbed the armored car with guns blazing. The crime was never resolved, and the young woman's murder was in the stack of unsolved-case files Bosch carried home the night he left the LAPD.

If you could sum up Lost Light: Harry Bosch Series, Book 9 in three words, what would they be?

    Necessary for series

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not really. I enjoyed the plot but it wasn't as suspenseful as some prior books. That said, if
you're reading in order this is a must read.

What about Len Cariou’s performance did you like?

His performance of Cross, and he gives a performance. I imagine it was difficult to perform that character. Some reviewers say it grates on them, but that's what someone sounds like on a machine. Cariou did an amazing job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    The last chapter

    Any additional comments?

This book is vital to the continuity of the series.

Virgil Flowers kicked around for a while before joining the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. First it was the army and the military police, then the police in St. Paul, and finally Lucas Davenport brought him into the BCA, promising him, "We'll only give you the hard stuff." He's been doing the hard stuff for three years now, but never anything like this.

Would you consider the audio edition of Dark of the Moon to be better than the print version?

    N/A

Who was your favorite character and why?

Virgil was a funny, serious, caring, character. He was believable.

Which character – as performed by Eric Conger – was your favorite?

    Stryker

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Suspenseful

    Any additional comments?

I hate paying so much for an audible book when I could just as easily read it. This was worth the price. The storyline was great and the narrator was great for this type story.
