This book has received a lot of attention and is a best seller, but I am uncertain about why. The juxtaposition of the two timelines is wonderful but, in the end, the protagonist is not very appealing---so why should we care for her? I cared for Sarah much more than the female journalist/protagonist and wish we had a story that more fully developed that character's life.
The sexiest romance I have ever had the pleasure to read. I didn't know if I would like this genre of book, but I really did. Kat Latham is a great writer.
This is no usual YA novel. It is endearing, funny, and not superficial in the least. It was a pleasure to "read" it!
After the first 30 minutes or so. I was hooked.
I typically don't like vampire stories, with so much banality surrounding vampire romance these days; but, this one actually kept me engaged.
The narrator handles a number of character voices adeptly and you really forget just one person is narrating! The characters are interesting and, along with the suspense, there is humor to keep it engaging. The story sucks you in and I found myself sitting in my car and listening even after I had arrived at my destination. I couldn't stop listening. Well done all around.
