The shooting of a Chinese liquor store owner in LA brings Harry Bosch back to the Rodney King riots and the moment a stranger gave a young cop sanctuary. Now the debt must be repaid, and Harry soon discovers the old man's death was no ordinary holdup.

I found this book to be a typical "ugly American tourist" story - going to a country where they have no idea of the culture and being obnoxious. A real shame as I have enjoyed all the other Bosch books that I have listened to.

This one has really put me off ...

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Would you listen to Relic again? Why?

I was looking for something new and read some of the reviews - they were really on the mark. What a GREAT couple of books. At times quite scary and very suspenseful. Really enjoyed them - great narration. Will be listening to more of this series.

What other book might you compare Relic to and why?

Reliquary is the 2nd in the series and awesome. Really scary at times - especially if you think tunnels are claustrophobic! but that's enough now listen and find out it is worth it!

What does David Colacci bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

David Colacci is an excellent narrator. He brought this book alive and made it very suspenseful.

Go the F--k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland. California Book Award-winning author Adam Mansbach’s profane, affectionate, and radically honest verses perfectly capture the familiar - and unspoken - tribulations of putting your little angel down for the night.

Garry says: "SAMUEL L JACKSON!!!!! Enough Said"

I thought this was going to be funny but it wasn't. I thought it was a bit OTT.
